    The quality of links are more important than quantity of links. If you have one back link from higher authoritative domain & 100 backlinks of low quality spam links then the 1 link is more important than 100 links.

    I don't think there is any specific number for the backlink. I do think that one has to find the quality of the link. Not many people pay attention to that part. And this leads to more of an issue than solution. You can find that many sites who have quality backlinks would be lot better. I am guessing backlinks take time to naturally grow.

    That’s also what I think that there is no specific number of backlinks that you need for your site to get a good ranking. In the case of backlinks, quality is supreme over quantity. If you can post your link on 10 websites in a day then that will be a great start in your link building chore. But be sure that those 10 websites are with authority or very popular with thousands of regular visitors. Don’t forget to make just 1 post on each website.

    Yes if your blog niche is say cooking. Then getting the links from the food sites is what counts as good links. And getting links from say medicine sites, that may not be counting good. So having good backlinks matter. I think on that note I'd definitely consider simple links at first for starters.
