    Why Keyword position is dropping

    There can be many reasons why the keyword positioning of websites is dropping. To know which the chief reasons are and to address those reason will help to reduce and stabilize the drop in the keyword positioning. Some the reasons for the drop in the keyword position are: Wrong keywords targeted, Changes in Google algorithm, Back links from sources that are irrelevant, robot.txt file that is incorrect, competitors are getting better etc.

    It should be due to competition on that keywords. It may be due to deletion of your back links on forum sites or other high ranked sites. or it can also be because your competitors are investing more in seo.

    I don’t think I can still add something to the comments above for the reasons why the keyword positioning is dropping. I agree that the primary suspect is the wrong keyword used that is not exactly relevant to the niche. With the backlinks I think they also have an influence when the sites they are placed in are not that popular. Weak backlinks have a drawback on the ranking of the site.
