Um it seems like they are coming up with new ones all the time. I think that it would be hard to give an exact number. LOL

According to one source, there are 250 search engines available online. The number could increase or decrease based on new search engines being added or merged with others.

Why would you need to even use more than one search engine to get search results? Even for highly specialized searches, Google provides comprehensive results.

If you're asking for just the main, then I guess it all boils down to Google and Bing. Both share bigger markets as well as funds for their search engines.

When you say main search engines, I am assuming that you are referring to the dominant search engines in terms of traffic. From the top of my head, there are only 4 that I can consider major search engines that get millions of traffic in a day. First is Google, of course, no doubt about it, followed by Yahoo Search which is within the top 10 of the biggest websites. Third in the list of major search engines is Bing which is in the top 50 of all the websites and Ask.Com in 4th position within the vicinity of top 200 websites.

According to statistics the top 5 search engines worldwide in terms of market share are Google, Bing, Yahoo, Baidu, and Yandex. But personally, I use Google because I find more useful articles like this https://innovecs.com/blog/transpor...nagement-system/ for my transportation business.
