    I have heard that Google is no more updating PR of the website

    If Google not updating PR there would not be changes in SERP too i guess, but positioning websites on Google search is still happening.
    Google only stopped to update public view of PR and it's API system so we don't know our PR's any more, but thet still ranking every single page ;)

    Having a high PageRank in Google can help BIG time. But don't make your whole online business depend on what Google thinks alone. Find other ways to promote your content too. Directories, traffic exchanges, twitter, facebook, etc. Never rely on one single thing. Of course having good SEO is nice and can be a BIG plus! Google Page Rank (PR) important or not? But don't place all your stakes on it.

    Well its playing big role in past but now I don't think so, yes I'm agree with that we should create good back links but method is slightly change now you have to more focus on good quality content base site, related niche and natural back link.

    In terms of SEO, of course, Google Page Rank is important for the website because it is the basis of Google for including the website to the search list. However, the updating of the page rank is not definite in schedule so you may be doing SEO methods to increase the page rank of your website but it seems like no effect. Always remember that SEO is not an exact science because the effects cannot be predicted.
