Top Search Engine searches for 2013

Ever wonder what the top searches for google were for 2013? They have been released and here they are:

1. Paul Walker
2. Vendée Globe
3. Kate Middleton
4. Secret Story 7
5. iPhone 5S
6. Valérie Benguigui
7. Star Academy
8. Harlem Shake
9. Nabilla
10. Nelson Mandella

Which of these did you search for? Are you surprised by any of them? I am not shocked in the least to see Kate Middleton on there. She is the future queen after all and many have been wanting a glimpse into her life. Paul Walker surprised me as number one. It is really too bad that he had to die as young as he did. A pure tragedy there.

Harlem Shake was very popular as well, and that does not surprise me in the least. It was something that everyone wanted a part of. And the iPhone 5s, well everyone wanted to know about that so I can see the search for that. I was saddened by the news of Nelson Mandella's death as well so not big shock that made the top ten either.

So what would you have thought would have been on the list? Any guesses as to what number 11 is? I am not sure what it was, just wanted to hear your guesses.

I'm a tiny bit disappointed that more worthy humanitarian causes didn't make the list, just celebrities and tech.

Wow I would have figured it would have been completely different. At least Kim K. was not on the top ten or Kanye. I am surprised that no news of the Pope made it.

This is a completely different list than I would have expected as well. I can not believe that some of this news made it on the top 10. I figured that it would be mainly celebs though since so many do search for this.

I totally expected the list to be different as well. Guess I was thinking it would show more tech stuff as well.

What can you do with this list when referring to your business? I did ask everyone in the office to make a Harlem Shake video - no takers.
I bet #11 was Twerking. Something else my Boss won't do!

I am not surprised that Kate Middleton made it on the list. And the Harlem Shake was so popular, everyone wanted to do it! And yes Stevemarketer, I am sure that if the list when on to top 20, then twerking would have made it, or at least Miley Cyrus.

It is no wonder that celebs make it as the top searches. Many are very curious to see what they are up to. I for one am glad that twerking did not make the list as I find it to be really stupid.

I am glad that Miley did not make it in the top ten. That would just inflate her head even more!

I would have assumed that the list was going to be mainly celebs. Look how many of us love to gossip about them? It is only natural that they are on the top of the list.
