Google is randomly showing me pages in other languages

I was researching pages on Google webmaster tools and Google decides to randomly show me this page:

Google is randomly showing me pages in other languages

Along with the helpful 'would you like us to translate' notice.

Oddly enough the url in the browser bar was the same as the one shown for the English version of the same site I always use when viewing Google Webmaster Guidelines (links)

That is funny. At my old job when our main Internet connection would go down we would be routed through Germany. Google would display all results in German when that happened.

This has never happened to me. Is there a way to translate it?

Have you used a VPN recently? That might have caused mixed signals for Google.

Hum so far I can not recall this doing it to me. Have you figured out the solution yet?

This only happened once and when I clicked the backspace button and later tried to come back and find that page again, it was gone. So fortunately I had already screenied the page as Google did not make the same mistake twice.

Google will show me the .co.uk version of Google Search after I purposefully visit a .co.uk site, as if I'm located in the United Kingdom. Or, alternately they will ask if I want to view the UK version of Google Search results.

Sometimes, my Gmail page will show Chinese words or ads. And, I don't know if this is related to an infection on my computer or a malfunction on Google' part. I don't speak or read Chinese and I don't visit sites that are written in Chinese, so I don't know why I would be seeing that on my browser.

Most times, Google will offer to translate a page, if it recognizes your country of origin. So for instance, if you are in an English speaking country and try to visit a German language site, Google will automatically offer to translate. If they don't offer this option, it's possible somehow your IP has been changed so that Google thinks you are actually in a country where that language is considered native.

Glad to hear that it only happened once to you and that you can screened the page.

Never happened to me either. I would be so lost if it did as I know no foreign languages.

Yes I have been to pages where it will ask up in the corner if I want it translated because it is in a certain language.

I have only had this happen to me when the page that I was on was a German site. Otherwise it has never happened to me either.
