How important is your email list to affiliate marketing?

During my five years as an internet affiliate marketer, I have always built email lists. And, this assists me in communicating with potential buyers whenever I want to recommend a product. However here, I am unable to get people to sign up to my email list for promotion of SEOClerks affiliate program. Do you use an email list for your affiliate marketing?

I think email lists are making easy money for many. You can see that many brands are going into SMS and emails. So that always helps. You can reach new leads this way. Email marketing is not easy game. You have to struggle a lot in order to get the leads. So that is another struggle in itself. If you are branding properly then yes, it can be doable. But I suggest sticking with the simple lead generation to start with. Then slowly it helps to make your list.
