What do you say to anyone that claims that writing is not a job? Why would you consider writing to be a full time job?

I spend as many hours a day writing as most people do with a so called 'real job'. And, what I do pays money which buys food and pays for daily bills. So I don't see how being a freelance writer is any different than any other job. Maybe the only difference is how you have to manage your time better and come up with your own clients and promote yourself to get jobs like this. While someone with a 'real job' offline just gets in the car and goes to the same place every day. There is stability to that. The freelance lifestyle is not for everyone and maybe in the perfect world it's best to do both freelance and offline job at the same time.

Some people think that work at home and freelancing is get rich quick scheme or make money without effort.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

You will spend as many hours at a freelance job as anyone who works the 9 to 5 work grind. So don't let them get you down.

GRRRR!!!!! I hate it when others say this. Yes writing is a profession. Look at those who work at a newspaper. They make a career out of it.

This sounds interesting. I've tried it on my own and it really works. However, I prefer changing the music I'm listening to inspire myself to create engaging content.

If you can find out who is reselling your services, then you should charge as much as they are charging, because obviously your services are worth that much money. Why settle for pennies when you can have quarters or dollars. And, no reason to charge so little for your writing or other services just so others can get rich off your effort, right?

As long as you are making your living from your freelance writing, you should not care for those. That's my viewpoint.

When I was in college, one cousin said that he didn’t pursue writing because he wants to earn good money. He writes good and we were surprised when he joined an advertising company. But he was right because he got rich in his chosen career. And maybe if he became a book writer, he might be a pauper now. I admit that fact. But to say that writing is not a profession, I guess that’s downgrading the career of writers. And even if I am not a writer, I would defend the writers in that context.
