Blogging vs Article writing

Blogging vs Article writing

Most blogs that I visit have shorter posts containing mostly opinion based info, while others have wiki-length in-depth articles on niche topics. So which style is more appropriate for a blog? Which do you use, the shorter blog style post or actual articles?

Shorter blog posts are better. If you want to write longer more comprehensive articles, then add it to your article library on site, rather than publishing as a blog post. This will provide good ever green content for your site visitors and a wealth of information while helping you get better position in Google Search.

I love reading long articles. The reason is simple, they analyze small things in detail, which keep me going. But short articles are like one-liners, which are written to keep blog updated and earn money from adsense.

I just usually can not get into the long ones. Short ones are fine but I really prefer medium sized ones.

Medium sized ones would be great. You can get a lot of info into them without making them too boring.

Often times I do not have the time to read long articles no matter how interesting they are. I much prefer shorter ones.

I like the conversational style of blogging. It feels more friendly than just wiki articles which are published on Wikipedia or Hubpages.

With blogging, I can express my inner self and readers come to know my personalized voice and way of 'speaking' online. The article style is more appropriate for a newspaper not an online venue where people want to have conversations.

I like a mixture. Some short. Some long. Others in the middle. It should be about what you want as the writer for your own blog site. There are times when I feel like writing long winded posts, while others I like giving updates on the different jobs I've been doing.

It just depends on how you see it!

I write depending on the platform where I am posting. On my personal blog, I publish personal stories. However, on my resource websites, I publish indept articles. When I am doing forum posting, my post is normally 50 words. However, my blog post on a personl blog will be around 600 words. My in dept articles are at least 1000 words. When I was writing on Bubblews, a social blogging site, I published short posts, however, on hubpages, a writing site, I have published articles longer than 1200 words.

I always go for moderation because when I write, what I have in mind is the convenience of the readers. Unless the blog is very, very interesting, the length should not be more than 10 pages of word documents. Shorter blogs of 2 pages are fine with me especially if they come with images which truly enhances the reading experience. However, it depends on the readers too because there are readers who prefer to read long blogs. But my take is that more readers prefer to read short blogs.
