    Is it necessary to have good English to be hired?

    Although, I would consider myself to be a native English speaker, I still find it difficult to get hired. And, yet others who are not native English speakers seem to have no issues getting hired. I can't lower my rates or else it won't be worthwhile to freelance. Some people complain that they want native English speaking freelancers for writing jobs and blogging, but they don't want to pay.

    I think if you are providing them what they need then I dont think Native english is that much a issue.Aas far as for english I think you are fine I am not Native either but manage to sell my services . Just deliver customer what you promise Always try to overdeliver to make them happy this way you will surely get good sales Is it necessary to have good English to be hired?

    Not all jobs require a high proficiency in the English language. So other factors could be involved as to whether or not you are getting the job. Sometimes your experience level will get you hired faster than anything else. If someone knows you have three years experience in your niche and work samples, references to back it up, then you are likely to get the job, more so than another person who just started in the same niche last month. This could be a bigger factor than your ability to speak English, unless that is an integral part of the job you are being hired for.

    The way I see it with content writing, the substance has more value than the grammar. I have seen forums with good posts but faulty grammar and yet the thread gets a lot of comments. The admin or owner would surely like that post and disregard the bad grammar. I'm also wondering why some ads say that native English speakers are preferred.
