Google favors new content, so you will always have an advantage if your blog accepts comments from readers. Of course, you will want to heavily moderate your comments to avoid spam, which can have negative SEO consequences.

There are many good reasons to allow your readers to comment on your blog. For one thing, it is just a nice thing to do and a good way to interact or talk with your blog readers. Also it's good for SEO, no one is denying that, so long as you keep spam cleaned off your blog.

More comments on your blog means authenticity has been established. When the readers find out that many people have left appreciative comments, he will believe in what you have published. However, allowing comments also mean you will have to deal with spam comments. If you let url to be shared while leaving comments, it will be detrimental to you site because visitors may leave harmful links.

I think allowing comments often opens up more issues with the trolls. And that's the thing we have to consider these days. You can see that allowing the blog comments can be good. But not allowing has it's set of reasons. So we just work with what we have. And then build with that. So it's not going to be anything bad all the time. We learn from our set of experience though. That's something for sure.

Allowing comments on the blog helps in SEO and in ranking,great comments on a site adds to the site discussion and it helps to give the site owner the ideas on topics he or she should blog about that would help the visitors and readers return to always read the blog but at the same time in the negative, leaving room for comments brings in trolls, scammers, and spammers which one needs to checkmate.
