The word quality is subjective and differs with every blog. All you have to do is answer a question that your reader might have and that would qualify as 'quality'. Also, what qualifies as quality to me, might not be quality for you.

One very good sign of a quality blog post is one that not only answers questions that others might have, but contains lots of specific details, instructions, statistics and usable facts. If the reader can say, 'I learned something', after reading your blog post or article, then you have done a good job.

A quality blog post does not have to be very long, but it should impart some very valuable information that helps your readers in some ways. Just think about this blog post, 'how to make a cake without egg or oil'. You could write one paragraph and publish that post with a photo and still give your reader all the information they would need to know. You don't need two pages for that type of post.

Actually, you don't have to publish any words to create a quality blog post. You could simply publish a new infogragraphic that illustrates your point. This image will have words on it and will be read by your blog visitors. It will serve the same purpose as writing and publishing an article.

Evie, I have read many that have fluff in them. They are basically repeating what they are saying more than once. I usually can not stomach stuff like this and end up moving on.

For ma, a quality blog has the following characteristics:

  • The title itself is catchy.
  • Its contents give justice to the title so the readers will not end up being frustrated after reading,
  • Its contents are informative, objective, and entertaining.
  • The blog is readable. It is logically grouped into paragraphs that put the whole story together. This also gives rest periods for the eyes of the readers.
  • Correct grammar, spelling, punctuation marks, and sentence constructions are also important. This helps
  • Quality images are included. People are visual by nature so incorporating images will make it more appealing to readers.
  • A blog doesn't have to be too long. People feel lazy reading long articles. Quality is more important than length.
I love reading blogs that have those characteristics. I consider them quality blogs. I'm sure most readers out there look for these qualities as well. It makes the blog more interesting and enjoyable to read.

In my experience as a co-blogger, a quality blog is something that has new information to share that is relevant to the niche so that the readers can learn something from it. Writing a blog that is just a rehash of common knowledge will not make for a quality blog. That’s the reason why you have an advantage if you write from your own experience because more likely it will be unique. Of course it has to be well written with no spelling and grammar mistakes.
