Do you prefer avatars on your forum?

I like it when forum members take the time to use an avatar as it makes the forum seem like a more friendly place. What's your thoughts on forum avatars?

I like the look of avatars on a forum. I think that they are pretty cool looking when you get a large variety of them on a forum. Shows a uniqueness to each forum member.

Avatars dress up a forum and make things more fun for members. It's easier to skim down a page, looking for your forum friends whom you can recognize by avatar.
