Secure your account with Two Factor authentication
In our ongoing effort to help you secure and protect your account, we've added new features that enable two factor authentication when a new device accesses your account. You can access the new security section from your settings area or by clicking on "Security" in the drop-down under your name in the top right corner.
From the security section you can add a telephone number, secondary password and security question. We highly recommend you do all three and suggest doing phone verification at minimum.
Phone verification will send a text message instantly to your mobile device with a code. Entering the code will verify your account and require a new code to be entered any time your account is accessed by an unauthorized device. The same also applies for your security question and secondary password.
Additionally, we are requiring all new sellers to verify their phone number before they are allowed to create services. This is currently only enabled for new sellers.
If you lose access to your account you can now recover your account using any of the security methods mentioned above. In the event that your account becomes compromised, the security information will also help staff identify the true owners of an account.
Badges and Address Verification
In the next few weeks we will be adding badges to seller accounts who complete the various stages of security. These badges will display on your profile and services which will be an indicator of trust for buyers resulting in more purchases.
We recommend you complete every step in the security section to obtain these badges once released.
We will also be adding address verification to the security profile which will mail you a physical postcard with a verification code via snail mail. Look for this in the coming weeks.
