Create tiny android application which will check 1 or more mail accounts (pop3, you can select secure port) and when detect new email, it will make an alert. (alert on screen permanent untill clicked OK, alert by selected ringtone, can enable vibrations). App is tiny, dont store, download big data.
Showing new mail subject + account name in onscreen notiffication would be an advantage.
