    When creating a website for a client, how much SEO related work will I be expected to do as standard?

    It's obvious that SEO is important to every company that has a website, whether they are even aware of it or not. I was just wondering whether there is an "industry standard" in terms of how much SEO related work is generally expected from someone who designs/creates a website for a company that has NOT paid extra for any SEO-specific work.

    If anyone could give some examples it would help me a lot,

    Hello,
    You can do standard seo setting only. I mean standard onpage seo and standard offpage seo.

    I'd expect a contracted IT or Web designer  to submit verify  crawl and create backlinks as part of the initial creation process.

    I recently created a website for a client. My duty was to develop and design the website, building contents and make it adsense ready. Since my work was to make the website adsense ready, I had to do a lot of work. I had to optimize the website as well as the contents, I also had to build backlinks and social signals. What kind of SEO work you have to do depends on your job. If your responsibility is to develop and design a website, you may not have to do a lot of SEO work, however, if your responsibility is to drive organic traffic, you need to do a lot of work.

    I don’t think the SEO work for a new website is a standard yet. Perhaps it would depend on the kind of contract with the website owner if he wants to include SEO work. For the monetization, assistance with Adsense registration is imperative and I think it does not really include SEO work. However, if SEO work will be included in the project then there is definitely an added cost.
