SERVICES IN HIGH DEMAND DURING CHRISTMAS

Different seasons see an increase in the demand for different services. What freelancing service is in the most demand during Christmas?

Probably graphic design artists have more clients during this time. Since everyone's making their site/logos/etc themed for Christmas. It's Christmas everywhere even in cyber space. So I'm guessing their services are in high demand during the holidays. I could be wrong of course lol.

Maybe your also correct since graphic designers are always in demand no matter what time of the year. Their works always gives life to a site or company. Rarely you can find a good and creative designers. The number of graphic designer is increasing and they're also having a hard time to find a good project prospect.

I think so too. Most companies order logos and stickers with Christmas designs. Also, Christmas cards are in demand these days. So, designers, I believe are in demand. People are looking for new Christmas designs when December comes.

Now that you both agreed to what I answered I'm now thinking that maybe I'm focusing on the wrong career path. I'm considering taking up a few lessons on graphic designs and see where it goes. I know this takes a lot of practice and there's also the possibility that this might something I won't be good at but it's still worth a shot.

Yeah, that's true. If you noticed, almost any website or company that has an online website has somehow decorated their website. What I liked recently is snowflakes falling on the page, looks beautiful.

It's a shame this question only asks about freelancing services, because I imagine if he'd ask about ALL OF THE services available on Christmas, then we'd be sitting till the morning to discuss about it, haha.

You're right, graphic artist are always in high demand for all kind of designs,themes and logos.So even this holiday they will still be needed for some fine designs.

I guess most of those designs will be Christmas related. Probably the urgency with which they are needed might be a chance to slightly raise the price for your services if the demand is good, that is.

Last December there's a high demand for Article Writers, Copywriters and Social Media Posters unlike this December which is kind of dry. I don't know if SEO services or Graphic services are doing good though.

I agree on this. This is the season when most of the families planned their reunions and gatherings, so there's a big chance that graphic design artists have more clients during this christmas. I have seen some families wearing printed shirts with their themed designs.

Well personally I see demand for most services decrease pretty drastically over the festive season. A lot of people take breaks over the holidays and as a result there just isnt the same push for needing freelancers. That’s been my experience for several years now, anyway.

I'm so ready for everyone to be back at work and ready to start the new year so that I can get some more consistent work happening! Thankfully after previous years, I've learned to budget for this time of year and ensure that I put aside some extra money to cover expenses when work is slow.

I'm quite new in the industry, although I do some sort of freelance work in the past. I agree with amelia88, it may seem that most people are busy during holidays and are giving their work a rest. If there are demands for freelance job, it might be all about Christmas card and Christmas articles, something that sells during the entire holiday.

I am also agree with the first comment even I am just a newbie in freelancing I can feel that the services decreases this holiday season. Some forum also are offline this holiday and has a big impact in freelancing,
more services delayed and set aside to celebrate first the holiday.

I also notice the same thing even though I'm a newbie as a freelancer. There is a lesser demand for freelancers, thus, freelancers prefer taking days off and enjoy the holidays.

I am not certain what kind of freelance work is in demand during Christmas season because I'm a beginner in freelancing world. But, I am thinking of virtual assistant who are busy answering calls from clients facilitating request or query about product/ services of a particular company. Imagine the online shoppers is increasing during this season.

Maybe graphic design to make nice Christmas related cards or illustrations. Also administration and managing for people who can't attend their businesses themselves and want to relegate the work to others while they're on vacation.

Well, from my understanding and experience with how Christmas affects every walks of life, there always seems to be a serious rush in everything when it comes to the period of Christmas seasons. Sometimes, these rush leads to creating of artificial scarcity.

I have been freelancing for more than 3 years already and I find the work somewhat slacking during the holiday season maybe because everyone is busy to attend to the occasion. Especially here in our country where family gatherings and parties are the order of the season most offices are closed from December 24th to 26th. For me it’s always the occasion that is the priority so I am not much into online work during this period.

That's true - I notice my work slowing down but even if it didn't slow down, I'd want to be taking a break and slowing down myself over this period. I really try to put an emphasis on family time over the Christmas and New Year's period, so in a way it's a blessing in disguise when work naturally slows down over this time.

I also think graphic designers and web designers might be busier before Christmas as many websites might want to change their themes to Christmas or Winter season, and graphics about Christmas are highly demanded. Besides these, I think those who work on decoration would be busy as well, as many shopping malls and shops would put up the Christmas decorations. I am not sure if there are freelancers who work on shopping and wrapping for gifts, if there is, perhaps they will be busy too.

I'd say any services that are bound by the holiday itself. There's just so much room for creativity and new innovations for Christmas that it goes beyond counting. Apart from designs (as many people have mentioned), you must also take note of texting gifts, which are unique.

I think article writing too will be in high demand at least there will be topics pertaining to the holiday period that site owners will like to have on their sites. So article writing will be in high demands too though not as much as those in designing niche.

I think that being an organizer could be a in demand service this Christmas as many people would love to have some important celebration such as parties and other special events during Christmas season. It really offers a good pay which can really give us a good living, the only problem in this kind of job or profession is because of being occasional which would not really be a good source of daily income.

Back here, the best thing you can do is sell clothes for children. It is more of a tradition than everything else that kids look good in new clothes every Christmas. Business people know too well to rotate their businesses along these lines. So I'd say, sell children's clothes for Christmas. But that is just for my country.

For this year it's kind of slow, unlike last year when there's a lot of work to do. I remember last December I had a lot of work in UpWork, but this December, I didn't even get 1 job in UpWork.

Most companies close down operations during the holiday and this means freelancing jobs are scarce. However, some services like graphic designs are in high demand. Also, some specific content writing services are also high in demand. Some people want to send texts and well-meaning messages but do not know how to phrase it.

I think that being a printing designer is also a good idea to have this Christmas season as more people would request to have some tarpaulin in their respective houses and offices to celebrate some important occasions and celebration such as Christmas party and many more. It is really a good way of having more money this Christmas season especially that it is only once in a year.

Graphic designers are busy this time of year. If you're a writer who specializes in fanfiction or writing stories on demand, you might get some commissions for gifts this time of year. Same if you're an artist in general. Digital art is a great gift to someone you can't send gifts to due to shipping constraints, or if the person whom you wish to gift is in the middle of moving and has no permanent address.
