Is it safe adding more one mail to your PayPal account?

Is it safe adding more one mail to your PayPal account?

I was informed about adding more than one mail to my PayPal account and I keep wondering if it's safe to add more than one mail to my PayPal account in order to avoid getting into trouble with PayPal.

PayPal is very sensitive in dealing with PayPal user and if you are care about what you do on your account, it will be limited temporarily or permanently.

I don't think there will be a problem if you add another mail to your PayPal account. However, I don't see any reason why I should add another email if my email account is working.

mark8625
That is right. They did that for the additional safety purposes of their users. I think this is for extra back up just in case there something wrong with your primary mail account.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ElectorAlexande
It may be necessary for you but I don't think it is that necessary to me because I protect my primary mail very well.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
It is definitely depends to the people whether they likes it or not putting two email account in Paypal. It is optional and not mandatory.

allyn2017
I agree with you, I can't think of any reason why we need two email in our PayPal account.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ElectorAlexande
Yea true, I don't see any necessary reason for that, one is OK.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I’ve got two emails linked to my PayPal and the reason is because one is my personal email address that I had as a teenager. Then I attached my. more professional email address that just has my name in it. I think many people who have two email addresses on their account are in the same boat.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
I think so. I believe that having two emails registered in Paypal is not a problem but an advantage too.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ElectorAlexande
Yea thats true, as well as it is an advantage it is also a risk.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
If its a risk I would not allow myself to put my secondary account there. I will not risk it and not good if I am going to put my money at risk.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ElectorAlexande
Yea it good if you say so just keep them both safe.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I echo the same sentiments as you. I do not think it is wise to add another email if what you have is functional. One of my PayPal account was limited permanently. It had $56.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I think the rate which emails are hack puts someone at risk, so I prefer one.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

It is a great help for me in some ways because it'll make easier for me to receive the payment.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yea it's makes payment easy and hacking easy too so just be careful.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
Paypal has a good views about that and they will not put their users in putting danger their money if ever.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yea thats true, I don't see any reason for adding an extra, I also saw that but ignore.

It's my understanding that a person can only have 2 separate and different PayPal accounts with two distinct emails. An email can only be added during account setup.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Alymae
I don't see any problem in doing so. It serves to be a backup email. So far, I didn't encounter any problems regarding this one. I have a secondary email.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
It can serve as a backup link which is pretty nice. We all know the situation that comes with PayPal and the limitations of accounts. So, having an escape route on that is nice.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Why do they sometimes limit accounts anyway? It happened to me before for no reason whatsoever. I contacted their support and they say they need verification from me and all that jazz. My account is already verified so what gives?

Where can I add another email in PayPal because when I registered, I was prompted for only one email. So what's with the second email?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

NerdIndeed
You have the option to add another email, and you can log in to your account using either of the emails you listed. I haven't tried though if the alternate email can be used to receive payment. Best to use the primary one in such instances.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I have not tried adding another email to my PayPal account and I don't know if there will be any issue with this. For me, it will serve as another option in case that the other email encounters any issue.

Well i have never thought of adding one more email to my Paypal account. I think that you are required to add only one email to your account. Adding another email may complicate matters relating to your transactions if you write the second email instead of the original email that is linked with your account.Maybe there is a provision to add the second email to your Paypal account and i may be completely unaware of it. However,I have not experienced any problem with using a single mail for my Paypal account till now.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I doubt it is a problem to add another email. However, I did what I usually do and googled the question. The answer is "yes." You set one email as your primary email and log in with that. Then you can use either email as long as they are confirmed. It seems many businesses do this to keep track of funds. Hope this help you.

Yes. It's quite safe. I have more than one eMail associated with my PayPal account. I have added and deleted eMails. No problem.

Are you able to receive funds with the secondary email that you added to the PayPal account? This is something that I have been thinking as well and I believe that it is going to work for those that wants to go into this kind of deal as well.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yes, I am able. I mainly use one eMail. But I have used the others with no problems at all.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Can you receive payments on the account using either of the emails listed or should you only use the primary to accept payments?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

cmoneyspinner
As long as the eMail is listed as an authorized eMail address in your PayPal account, you can use it. However, to avoid confusing myself I only use one eMail. LOL. The other eMails are backup just in case I can't access my eMail. There have been times when I couldn't open my own eMails.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

NerdIndeed
Yes, I get what you mean. All the listed emails can access the account. Have you personally tried using your alt emails to receive payments?

I have multiple bank accounts and cards positioned on my account, but only one email. This is because if someone were to be able to access my second or third email address by nefarious means, my paypal account would be in a world of trouble. Keeping the email reigns tight with just one addy, ensures that sort of thing doesn't happen.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I think there is no problem with adding one more email to your PayPal. PayPal, in my own knowledge doesn't do you dirty. So far, I don't have problems with regards to the security of my account.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Paypal has a reason why they let their users put two or multiple email account. They are great and known company and I am pretty sure they will not do anything that makes them in trouble.

I think it is really safe to add more email to our PayPal account because as Per review on their rules and policy, I have not seen any articles there that saying that the site prohibits from having many emails linking to our PayPal accounts as long we are not doing any illegal things that can break the rules of PayPal.

I only have one email account used in my paypal account and I feel comfortable with it. Maybe someday, I'll consider to add one more email as the other said it would be better to add an another email for account safety. Thanks for opening such topic, it helped me to answer some of my questions.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Same with me. As of now, I am content with just one email address for my PayPal. So far, I haven't encountered problems with the security and other factors.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Well, I'm a type of person who tend to forget things easily. I guess it would be better if we will just use one email so that we can avoid confusion when we are doing withdrawal.

I think it is safe. Before I have link my other email address but decide to remove it for my safety but of course I am not sure how safety it is or a risk. I just created another account for my other email address. I am just afraid that I subscribed my email to others applications and might deduct my money from paypal.

The nightmare of online money platforms is hacking. Ideally you want to reduce the risk of your Paypal account being hacked. I feel the best way to do that is to get as few emails (ideally one) as possible and to get a strong password for it. If you feel you can have more than one email with equally strong passwords added to your Paypal account, then no harm done. Just remember you want to lower risks of being hacked.

You’re allowed to have more than one email address signed up to a PayPal account. For instance, I originally created my PayPal account with an email address I created as a teenager - one of those ridiculous email account names. I always felt unprofessional giving that out to people, so I attached my email address that just contains my name. PayPal allows it so you shouldn’t have any troubles.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I have added 4 emails into my account. And that means I am working out to be with multiple address. You can see that paypal seems to be flexible with the emails that one uses. And for same reason I'd say only add those emails which you have access for. That way you don't end up with different type of the login issues if one email is no longer accessible.

haven't tried adding another account in PayPal. I'm also afraid because what if it will cause some errors when you are going to withdraw money. Maybe you ask them directly by sending them an email if it is okay to have another account.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
It’s definitely allowable to have an extra email account linked on- it’s in their policy that they allow an extra one. Shouldn’t cause any errors when you withdraw money as long as you withdraw it to the correct source - that part has nothing to do with your email account.

I dont think it will be a problem if you add another mail account to your Paypal. Paypal is known and use by many people around the world and I think they let their users to add other mail account for their users own good in the end.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree with you. Well, if something bad happens, then it would be the downside of PayPal. Since it is known worldwide they wouldn't mess their brand if they are in their right mindset.

I've googled it and it says you can have 2 accounts in PayPal. One consumer account and one business account. Each account must have its own unique email address, bank accounts and credit cards.

So it seems you can have 2 accounts in PayPal. And that means you can add a new email account on your second PayPal account.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

koki12346
No, do not do this. It's better to make a secondary Paypal account than to add a second mail to your first PP account. In my opinion just open another account. Paypal allows it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
Personally that wasn’t the best solution for me. I prefer just having the one PayPal account but being able to have the convenience of giving out either a personal or a more professional email address to be paid via.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree with you, that's is also one of my reason why I add secondary email in my PayPal.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

PayPal allows a person to have multiple PayPal accounts, yes that is allowed. However, why do you think this is better compared to having a backup email listed? Do you have an experience of inconvenience when you did this? Please do share for the benefit of the community, thanks!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I have added one email to my PayPal for emergency purposes. And it was safe, I have also read in their website that adding secondary email is safe.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

NerdIndeed
Yes, it is safe, I tried that before. When you have 2 or more email accounts, PayPal will ask you as to which one would you like to use as 'primary.' I believe you can log-in to your account using both or all of the emails listed on it.

I think it is safe enough to add another email to PayPal. It is improving with time. Am happy with it linking with my mobile money phone provider, I receive money from PayPal in less than 2 hours.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I am only using one email now in my PayPal account because I am not fun on having many email address link to it because I find it to be hassle in memorizing them all. Maybe if I have a lot of time then I might try to link another email at my PayPal to see how it works and to have a great experience from it.

I don't understand why so many people talk about pay pal limiting accounts and talk like that. I've been using them for over 15 years and have NEVER had a problem, never. Plus they have always had great customer service when I call.

Actually an extra email addresses in your account could be a good thing. One if you can't use a certain email? I've been working online since 1998 and have many email accounts over the years that I lost or do not have access to any more. Just a thought Is it safe adding more one mail to your PayPal account?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Everyone I've heard from says that when they've called they've had excellent service from PayPal. I've only dealt with their online chat reps and I find that it's a bit hit or miss with them. Some have been great, some do the bare minimum to help.

Guess that happens in every organization though!

I think it's actually safe to have a backup email address associated with your PayPal. In case soomething happens to your primary email (its hacked, somehow you lose it) you have a secondary one to use to protect your accounts and change information to prevent anyone who isn't authorized for its use from gaining access to it.

Your account won't be limited for having more than one email address in your Paypal account. They actually allow you to add up to eight email addresses to your account. Eight is the maximum they allow and you can use any to login to you account.

However, you can have only one primary email associated with your Paypal account.

All messages from Paypal about transactions, news about privacy policies, etc will be sent to your primary email account.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
Holy moly, I didn't realize you could have up to eight linked. That actually makes things convenient though because I wanted to add my gmail account to my PayPal but already had two email addresses associated with my account. I'll have to log in and see if I can add my gmail too.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

This is true. There is a reason they allow primary and secondary emails. That is because people take money from different sites and have priority for setting the payments. So they do allow multiple emails for the recovery. And also that helps to keep track of the transaction. So having more emails verified definitely helps out.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mitan143
Cool. So that is why they allow the users to add more emails, is because they want to secure the account. Alright, I appreciate this answer also. It has a point anyway.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

overcast
Yes they want to secure account. And you can also sort out the payment origin based on email. So that appears in the reports. So you can find it more easier to categorize the reports. That's another reason.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I see. Your explanation gives me more idea and trust to add another to my paypal account because I actually have a plan on doing it. I really appreciate this, it really does help me decide. I just hope that I couldn't encounter any problem to my account in my future use.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I doubt you'd encounter any problem by simply adding an email address to your paypal account. I've done this numerous times. Changed emails, deleted the one I used to sign up - no complications.

If you want to link more email addresses to your account, just do it. The good thing about it is should you lose access to your primary email address for any reason whatsoever, you wouldn't lose acces to your paypal account.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yea, it is. Paypal is one of the best and most secured websites out there. You however, gotta make sure your emails are well protected with a good password and extra security. I always use two emails for any website, one as primary and other as an emergency one. I think it's mandatory.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Adding another email to your Paypal is just a way to heighten the security of your account. This feature serves as a back up security once your other email or your Paypal account is hacked. I don't think it's unsafe and I don't think either that it is very necessary if you are wise on keeping your account safe.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

It is safe adding an additional email to your paypal account provided that you own or know the details of the email that you are adding. Linking a bank account to your Pay pal account can be risky though however, i you are diligent enough to keep your account secure. You may not be having any problem with Paypal. Paypal is the best tool for any freelancers or for anyone who are involved in digital/internet business. God bless those who creates this platform.

Honestly, this is also my question about adding another email to paypal account. I actually have a plan on adding one email and I'm still on doubt to do it. They say that there's no problem with it but I don't know why I feel odd on it. I think maybe because of the conflict that I might encounter in the future. As of now, I'm using my paypal account with one email bind on it for many months now and I have no problem using it. That is also why I'm a bit scared to try adding another email.

I'm not sure but I added another email on my paypal account a few weeks ago and I did not have any troubles yet. I was able to withdraw and received it in my card after waiting for 3 days and it was fine, no troubles at all. Where did you get the idea that adding another email is unsafe?

I got scared and curious, I'll definitely search this on google.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yes. As I remembered you can add less than 8 email address into you Paypal account any confirmed e-mail addresses which you have added in your PayPal account can be used for the equal functions as your primary email address like loging into your account, sending money, recieving.

I'd make a second Paypal account if I were you. Separate your personal and business account. Connect only the necessary debit/credit cards and bank accounts to each account to avoid having problems when there's a transaction error or your accounts are hacked. Don't keep all your eggs in one basket.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

esteban123
Yes you are right on that @rlpzbeermoney since it would be risky for us if we will have such setup in our PayPal account. Just to be safe it is better to separate them so that whenever our account would be hacked we can still save the other one and we can still use it for some purposes.

In the first place, who informed you of adding another email to your Paypal? If it is Paypal that said you needed to add another email address then you have to oblige. But from what I know, only 1 email address is required by Paypal although you can attach several credit cards and bank accounts. Maybe you were confused that it’s not the email address but the credit card.

I see no issue with this as PayPal lets you associate up to 8 email addresses in one account. Just make sure you remember your account details and keep it all safe and you'll be fine.

There shouldn't be any trouble adding more than one email address, that alone shouldn't be a reason for limiting an account. In fact, I have several addresses associated with my account and haven't had any trouble or received any warnings. If you're concerned about the limitations my advice is simple: don't use Paypal. Or at least, don't keep an amount you're not willing to lose. I suggest storing your money in more trusted platforms like Skrill, Payoneer or Uphold, they don't seem too picky about your activity and have cheaper fees.

Adding another e-mail is another measure of protection for your account. If you forget your password, you could retrieve it through your e-mail and if your email gets hacked, you could use the other email to continue normal transactions.
