Motivation Monday: Stop the excuses and watch your profits increase

One thing holding us back from success is the excuses we give to ourselves after something doesn't go right with our business or website.  We tell ourselves that Google changed its algorithm and messed up our rankings or we didn't make as much money as we could of because the market changed.  You're not as successful as possible because of yourself, no one else, you are either holding yourself back or you're the one who is credible for your success and profits.

Excuses come from all over the place, and you should never be telling them to yourself as to why you didn't finish something.  If you're a freelancer, working for yourself, or even working for a business that pays you hourly then you should be doing your best and not be procrastinating in order to get the job done.  Don't set yourself up for excuses, and you will see yourself gaining more clients, as well as boosting your overall profits through more people signing up or even getting a promotion at work.

You're the only one holding you back
If you're not making money right now, it's not because of someone else, it's because you have lead yourself down the wrong path and you've wasted your time on a method or system that was supposed to work for everyone.  You need to do your own research, implement your own methods, and boost your own popularity online through social media marketing as well as SEO.

You can always hire someone to do tasks for you such as SMM, SEM, and SEO but you need to stop giving yourself excuses in order to be more successful.  If you are outsourcing work, don't accept excuses unless they're justified, because that's not how a company doing work for you should respond.  I recently had a child and sometimes can't work because he takes up a lot of time during the day, and I'll tell my clients this, but I will always give them something extra when submitting work as a way or saying sorry for the late work.  If your excuses are justified, always give back and boost your credibility, and your clients will stick with you.

Excuses are like A$$holes, everyone has them
Everyone has an excuse for something that didn't go their way.  I actually try to surround myself with people that say "It just didn't work out because I screwed up" and I seem to have a great pool of talent at my disposal whenever I need a favor Motivation Monday: Stop the excuses and watch your profits increase

Think about a video game, if you were to get eliminated from a match because you weren't as good as them, you might say it was lag or they were glitching the system.  In reality, you just weren't as good as them and they won, but you can't come to the reality that you aren't the best at something so you simply lie to yourself and anyone in the lobby.

Stop giving yourself excuses just like everyone else and be more profitable at the end of the day.

Accept defeat, learn from it, tweak your approach
If you can't accept the fact that you've been defeated online in a niche you were so dedicated to, you likely won't last long when it comes to internet marketing, and that's because it's extremely competitive out here.  You need to learn from your defeats, not give yourself excuses, and then tweak your approach in order to win the next time you jump into a niche that you're not totally familiar with.

Removing excuses will increase productivity
If you can tell yourself "I screwed this up" instead of saying "It didn't work because..." then you're going to be stuck in a rut and that's never easy to get out of.  Analyze why something failed, tell yourself you can fix it, and get to work instead of telling yourself it can't be done.

In conclusion
If you can stop giving yourselves excuses, you will always be more successful online because you won't have downtime to sulk after a defeat.  Think about it, how often do you think successful people worry about a loss and tell themselves "It failed because..." because they don't.  Successful people will always say "Ok, how can we fix this and prevent it from happening again?".  If you can think like that, you'll see your profits going up from month to month and you'll be a happier person in the long run Motivation Monday: Stop the excuses and watch your profits increase

Yeah, especially when starting a business, a lot of people think of many excuses both as a way to delay the launching of the business or to justify the poor performance of the company. It's best to just work hard and go for your goals rather than make excuses and to always monitor and evaluate your company to find out what can make the business improve rather than finding a way to justify your current practices without making any changes.

Excuses stop people all over the world from being successful. Excuses pop up when we doubt ourselves, or we doubt our company's services or products, and it's one of the main reasons a lot of us aren't successful.

Always making excuses just holds us back from the success we're trying to achieve. Stop making excuses and watch the profits start to roll in lol Motivation Monday: Stop the excuses and watch your profits increase I say this because you take a chance on that next website or system and eventually when you start taking enough chances like that you'll find something that's going to be very profitable Motivation Monday: Stop the excuses and watch your profits increase

I'm not the biggest fan of Thomas Edison (he was kind of a scumbag, but this isn't History 101) but you can find some good quotes from even the scummiest people. A quote that I've always admired from him was, "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."

The reason I bring this up is because it reminds of your comment about taking enough risks until you've come across something profitable. Even if you're blindfolded, throw enough darts at a board and you're bound to hit the bullseye. The important thing is to not give up when you miss.

Definitely, you'll never know what will happen if you don't try your best and give effort into what you're trying to achieve, and making excuses all the time and blaming other factors every time will only make it more difficult for you to be successful.

Bull. I make excuses and I work hard. They are not mutually exclusive. They are not excuses, they are facts, truth. Not everything is so simple. Not everyone gets lucky.

Excuses in this context refer to when people blame their failures on the simplest of things and refuse to acknowledge their mistakes or laziness. Of course, there are circumstances where something bad happens that affect your business negatively, but still, you press on and continue despite the setback rather than dwelling on those failures.

I am one of those hesitant to act and my plans remain plans until now. The plan is to engage in affiliate marketing because my main line of paid forum posting is not making me earn a substantial amount. With affiliate marketing there is a promise that in the long run the income will be good and it can even be considered passive income. But there is a need to have my own website and that is what’s holding my plans for now.

To be honest, I've never had the problem of making up excuses as "justifiable reasons" for not getting things accomplished. But if you really want to know, my inspiration to press forward each day came from watching a kids movie called “Never Ending Story”. Don't know if you've ever watched the film, but I think I got more from it than my kids.

There was one scene in that movie that cemented itself in my brain. This sad rock creature is asking the little boy to look at his hands. He says to the child: “These look like big strong hands, don't they? But they couldn't STOP The Nothing!” The Nothing was about to take over the whole planet! SOMETHING has to be done to STOP The Nothing!

In this life, we all have to STOP The Nothing from overtaking us. Excuses are just weapons used by The Nothing monster to defeat you! LOL. Motivation Monday: Stop the excuses and watch your profits increase

I think some of the time excuses are reasonable. Because people who think those are excuses don't see the world from the other persons POV. And that makes things a bit harder to understand. I'd say on that note you can see that lot of things in life happen and those are not excuses. So it all depends on how we manage to do things.

'Accept defeat, learn from it, tweak your approach' That's a motivator for me, we all know that in any business trials and failure is a step away, one wrong move or decision could result to failure. But getting up from failure and learning from it is what makes businesses successful. Also innovation and keeping your knowledge up to date will make you competitive and go head to head with other aspiring businesses.

I couldn't agree with you more. There are a lot of risks in setting up a business. You can reduce those risks by making plans but you can never remove all those risks. So before you put up a business, make sure that you are prepared with everything that might happen. If ever you failed, stand up and be wiser to avoid failing for the same reason. Stop making excuses and be sure to learn from you experience.

Honestly, I hate it when I fail even it is just a simple matter and I want everything to be done perfectly according to my plan. That is what I've been thinking before I am able to realize that failure is part of life and in fact it teaches you a lot of lessons that will make you a better person and will also give some ideas in order for you to achieve your goal especially in making money from your work.

It maybe because you put a high standard on yourself dear. Good to know you've realized that nothing's perfect and everyone is making a mistake. I was once like this, and it aint helping me. We need to realize that a mistake is not a hindrance for anyone's success. As long as we're doing anything we can to make it right. And that we have this goal in mind that motivates us to do better.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mitan143

Yes, I think aiming for high standards is the sole reason why I became a perfectionist one time and I think it is because the influence of the people around me who are always telling me that I should this and do that. But the most important here now is that I have already genuinely accept failure and I use my weakness to improve my self.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That's great! But I am sorry if you suffered from whatever or whoever influenced you to become a perfectionist. It's good to know that you think more about yourself now and that people's opinions don't affect you anymore. It feels great right? like, we can peacefully sleep at nights and do whatever it is that makes us happy without minding what other people has to say. I can assure you, based on my experiences. That you will be genuinely happy if you accept your flaws and limitations and that you don't mind what others will have to say ????????

I really appreciate your sympathy towards my experience. Well, yes it feels already great when you do not push your self too much just because of what other people kept on telling you.

Understanding that not every time that we aim to succeed is when it is possible to happen should be a way for us to brace up for any challenge that we face in life. I have come to realize that giving lots of excuses when things ain't working out in the business that we are doing ain't the best way to go.

"...I have come to realize that giving lots of excuses when things ain't working out in the business that we are doing ain't the best way to go." -Barida

I very much like that part in your comment. Yes, definitely. Some people just make excuses because they don't just accept that they did some mistakes on something and they wanted to sooth themselves for those excuses. Giving a reason to a mistake or to a failure won't change anything and it will not move you up as well.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida

That is what I was saying as giving excuses won't help to make things work better in any way. You only have to check out where you got it wrong and look for ways to make everything work right. This is the reason I believe that we can make things work in life once we push towards achieving better results instead of giving excuses.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mitan143

Yes, good point! That is exactly what people should learn in running their business or any work. Also, some people in business are afraid to take a risk in order to improve it that is why they tend to create some excuses that it will turn this or that, but if they think the other way then maybe the business won't remain as it is when it starts.

Thanks for this, I really needed reminding. Working online can be challenging especially when you first start out. Most people give up at this stage because you start feeling that you will never make it, but if you just hang in there you will start to see results. The more you learn, the more you see your profits grow. The reason you may not be making money is because you don't know enough. Get to learning there is knowledge and opportunity everywhere you look.

I have stopped in most of the freelancing sites that I have worked on before deciding that it is time that I start pushing to excel. The worst that can happen is when we give up when we should be consistent and learning the ropes involved in it.

"Think about a video game, if you were to get eliminated from a match because you weren't as good as them, you might say it was lag or they were glitching the system."

As an avid gamer, this one kind of opened up a new realization for me. There is a game I really love called Dark Souls, and it is infamous for being one of the most difficult games on the market. I can't deny that it is difficult, but only at first. The monsters you fight can seem crazy unfair, but ultimately, if you get hit and die, it's your fault. You failed to dodge or block when you were supposed to, and now you're dead.

But you get back up, you head back to that boss, and now you know that when he does that move, get out of the way. And that way you slowly learn, and you get better and better until you meet every challenge with a knowledge that almost guarantees victory.

It's practically a metaphor for facing challenges in life. You might not be familiar with them, and they'll knock you down, but every time you get knocked down you'll be coming back up having learned something you hadn't known before.

In my personal experience, I usually tend to quit when I'm faced with difficulties or failure that's why I don't succeed while others are earning great in the same kind of business or endeavor.

Accepted the defeat is very inspiring one. That's right, we should know how to accept the facts and instead to stop, use this experience to get better, try to analyze the problem or the missing things and improve it next time.

Most people don't always want to admit that they have made mistakes and that is the area where they fail it. I mean that it is important that we understand the need to accept our mistakes whilst learning from them instead of blaming everything on other factors.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

aeon

Well, because of ego or pride, maybe they don't accept their mistakes in front of other people but during their time alone, they will realize that. Mistakes lead us to the right path, we should also appreciate that.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Corzhens

I agree that when something goes wrong, you just have to accept your fault in order to move on. Some businessmen failed to admit their fault and try to cover up with innovations but in the end it still boils to the faulty action of the manager or business owner. Well, if there is a faulty action then the best thing to do is to accept the mistake and think of how to correct it. When you accept then you will not tend to repeat the same mistake in the future.

I would also like to stretch and add on the importance of learning quick from mistakes. Some people tend to dwell on errors that they fail to take the valuable lessons. Quick learning enables one to get back out there to continue pushing until success has been realized.

Very true! Some people don't accept mistakes which is why they can't be a better person. It may be too late the they realize that they're just wasting time for excuses instead of correcting their mistakes, move on and do better. The truth is, it's very hard to accept mistakes especially if you are full of pride. Everyone should accept their own mistakes. If you encountered a problem, you should not stick to it as it already happened. Focus on what you will do to correct the problem and to prevent this from happening again in the future. Always embrace mistakes, keep in mind what you did wrong and what you should have do to correct it. Always open up to suggestions from others and listen even if it's a negative or positive comments.

Have to face it: I use excuses a lot. Honestly, is not that I don't know it, I totally know that I'm procrastinating a lot, by saying a lot of "buts", and I still cover myself under those excuses and don't move forward, at least not as fast as I want to. So, I totally agree when he says that "removing excuses will increase productivity", because I'm guilty and not proud of it.

That is very true, excuses are a way to hide your weaknesses and to never admit your mistakes. It's always advisable to stay away from the habit of complaining and giving excuses if one wants to succeed in life. Once a person develops a habit of giving excuses he effectively stops the process of his growth and progress. it's always essential to admit our mistakes, take responsibility, learn from the mistakes and try and move ahead in our life. A person who is defeated or who has given up will resort to giving excuses, on the other hand, a person who wants to move ahead in life will never give excuses

I had this problem. There is a time I would always find an excuse not to work or deliver on time. That taught me so much because I lost good clients.

After avoiding the excuse, I have seen the fruits of hard work. Also, I have retained some clients, and I get referrals because of avoiding excuses.
