Which is more valuable: 100 general followers or 10 engaged followers

There is this big push to get more and more followers on social media. Understandably so.
However, do all followers carry the same value?

Mass followers will never become your audience for the future time traffic or post. But engaged foll owers are your audience where with this aydience you can do anytging by your product.

I think people who are engaged matter more. General followers who never come to page or profile or group may not be helpful. And that can surely affect the conversion process. So it can be good to consider having the engaged followers. I am sure there are people who prefer such over anything in their due process.

What is more valuable: 100 people in your store or only 10 people in the queue of the cash to pay for a product?

I think quantity never wins the quality, so I sure prefer to have 10 users engaged and ready to become customers, than having 100 users randomly.

I had a retail business before. There was no internet yet at the time and my only way of marketing is by individual approach. I also did prospecting to acquire new customers. When it comes to general customers versus loyal ones, I go for the 100 customers. My gamble is to convert half of the general customers into engaged customers. Compared to the choice of 10 engaged customers, I am confident that I can convert at least 11 of the 100 general customers into engaged.

I would say that the 10 engaged followers matter more. 100 followers that don't really want anything to do with you is pointless and unhealthy. I'd rather be underrated than overrated. It's always a matter of quantity vs. quality, you would have a lot more to brag about if you have followers that are actually engaged with your content.

The engaged followers are the one that counts very much. They are loyal and can raise the traffic on your blog or site, besides, if your blog is really good they may bring other followers as well!
