The island Bear Grylls would you do this?

Have you seen The Island with Bear Grylls TV show? Where Bear puts a bunch of random everyday people onto an island that can just about support life and basically leaves the to survive and fend for themselves without any help from Bear. They still have to do stuff like go out hunting and gathering, fishing and trying to catch of the wild boars of goats that are on the island even Cayman crocodiles they can catch, kill and eat. It's been a great show to watch, sort of like I'm a Celeb Get Me Out of Here but without the celebs and the crazy challenges they need to do for food. But they still have to challenge their selves everyday to find enough food to stay alive on and keep moral up. And it shows how people need to work together to survive but they get hungry and irritable and argue and tensions flare up and people leave or get voted to leave lol.

I'm just watching it now and they are all getting evacuated because of incoming typhoon which sucks but obviously they have to think of their safety. But half the group are actually deciding to stay even though it's pouring down like an Amazon, they're all wet, cold, hungry and low on moral and could be killed but it's up to them if they want to stay. Although the safety team do have the last call which they're examining now such as the general health of the camp members, to make sure nobody suffers from hypothermia and the condition of the island is safe to make sure there's no flooding or landslides.
Right now the camp they've built is in a flood zone and they're being asked to move camp which is looking to be a monolithic task for them since they're all wet, cold, hungry and a bit bent out of shape about things lol.

They're all saying that they'd love to go home and have a hot burger and a cold beer and a nice bath and all those creature comforts. But they're also saying that another part of them wants to stay on the island and battle their way through it as a group.

And I don't blame them and would do the same thing myself! I wouldn't want to go home and would stay to do what I went there for. That despite lots of ups and downs, twist and turns, to go there, survive on nothing but basic, primitively survival skills. Man I ain't even going to be subtle about it, I'm well jel and would love to be one of them doing that! I would be in my element. I would fee complete. I would be like Rambo in the jungle. I would be Tarzan. I would be the kid from jungle book. I would be so focused on utilising the skills and abilities of everyone and using the group as productively as possible to stay alive for as long as possible.

Man I would love it! I'd be fishing everyday, looking for game everyday. Setting traps, building huts, gardening tools, man, I'd live like I was the Swiss family Robinson!! Lol ????

As said I was just watching it now. As it turns out, the storm passed and they all woke up to a beautiful sunny day. Moral is good, there's a few bickerings like who's got the most tarp that Bear brought them while it was stormy lol. But see if I was there I would sort that out and not let them fall out over such things. And that's the thing about this show! Sort of the reason, or one of the reasons, why Bear is doing this show. To show what people are like. To see whether normal people can survive in such extreme situations. And it's crazy, a couple of the camp members have set up camp elsewhere on the island and have left the others which is just not the right decision to make don't you think? They need to stick together and leave all their reservations and snobbery the boat. This is about survival and proving to the world you have what it takes to survive! And with that, remember islanders! Look for the bare necessities, The simple bare necessities. Forget about your worries and your strife. I mean the bare necessities. Old Mother Nature's recipes. That brings the bare necessities of life! The island Bear Grylls would you do this?
Anyway yeah, great show. Do you watch it?

What do you think about the show and the people on it?

As a freelancer. Or even just as a person. Would you go on the island and do this?

Remember, no mobiles, no Facebook, no showers, no comfy bed to sleep in, bugs and all! But a beautiful island, free from traffic and smog, beautiful sandy beaches and sea lapping all round.

Ohhhh man, I love this show lol. The only parts I hate are when he knows he's being extracted in 24 hours but he had to kill an alligator in order to feed himself and the person he's with, if there is one.

There was a show where he trapped an alligator, killed it, then was extracted a few hours later. Like WTF???

As for your questions....

Do you watch it?
I do. I watch his show, dual survival and Alone. Each of these shows is basically the same thing but with different people, except for Alone. Alone is where they put like 20 people out in the wilderness and have them roughly 5 miles apart from each other so they don't meet up. They are suppose to survive until the tap out or win. There is not set time you are going to be out there because they only way to win is to be the last person standing lol. You have to stay there until everyone taps out, and the show doesn't tell you who has tapped out or how many people are left lmao The island Bear Grylls would you do this?

What do you think about the show and the people on it?
Bears show is pretty cool, for the most part. The people on it, like the celebrities, is kind of annoying because they tend to just complain 90% of the time since they're so use to the glitz and glamor of hollywood lol The island Bear Grylls would you do this?

I could easily do this lol. I've been an outdoorsy type person my whole life from hunting to fishing and even living off of the land while building shelters if needed. From a young age I always liked being outdoors and if you asked my mother, she would say that I was probably the dirtiest kid in the neighborhood because I was always roaming around the forest near my house The island Bear Grylls would you do this?

Yeah, I'd be ok with that as long as I had everything automated and was still making money while I was out in the wilderness The island Bear Grylls would you do this?

Would you do it and would you survive!? The island Bear Grylls would you do this?
Oh I'd survive. I'd survive so much that Bear would be asking me for pointers and I would be given 10 different shows to teach the world my skills The island Bear Grylls would you do this? The island Bear Grylls would you do this? The island Bear Grylls would you do this?

Would you survive, Mike? The island Bear Grylls would you do this?

OMG I love Bear Grylls and I would jump at the chance to go to The Island on his show.

Here are my reasons why:
  1. There are NO children on the island - geez what a holiday right?
  2. I would certainly lose all this extra weight I have put on after having 2 kids and quitting smoking - have you seen how skinny they all leave?
  3. How awesome to spend time out in nature and have a tech free break - I think that would do me the world of good.
  4. Talk about giving me some awesome experiences to blog about when I get back home right?
  5. And talk about giving me some worldwide exposure to build up my name.
I love camping and being outdoors, I love a challenge and I love learning about myself. This would be a big time personal growth experience wouldn't it?
I would struggle with big time with two things though, killing animals (ooohhhhh noooo) and pooping in the dark outdoors not knowing what might jump up and bite my bum.

Anything that is going to pull me away from what I do on a daily basis is definitely not the thing that I would enjoy doing and that goes for living at a place where I can't get internet access. I would only do so when I've realized that the passion that I have a freelancer has died down.

Same with me. I can't imagine doing the survival stuff in the jungle. I am kind of addicted to technology. And it's not easy for me to work with the survivalist mindset. Not yet. Not now as I am not that strong in that case. I have learned from the experience that bear grylls often does this with the help of others. And they just show the stuff in front of camera. So things are lot different for sure.
