    Social media optimization does include the black hat approach too. Like buying likes and the shares through the fake influencers. And this way it can be quiet harder on those points. I just think that some of the time we have to approach everything long term. If we think short term be it SEO or the SMO both can be going in the black hat way. So that's something to consider.

    Thanks for the message and reply. Social media optimization means to add your website with 100+ social media website in this world. Like you want to open an account with VK. At the time of account registration you have to full fill the account information and you have to insert your website address also. For the website that is social media optimization. Website address add with title or with keywords- is called social media optimization.

    I was going to ask for the difference between White Hat SEO and Black Hat SEO. But one of the commenters above ( overcast ) offered a clarification. I did not think that Vine and My Space were still on the social media map. But I guess they are for those in the entertainment industry. I'm glad you brought up this topic because it's a good pointer in the right direction.

    Black Hat SEO is a technique where your website will get quick position on search engines or your website will stay for atop position for few days by any forced techniques which are not allowed in SEO. White hat SEO is a legal works of SEO where you will get rank day by day.

    I understand that it is good to have accounts in all social media platforms if you have a business. That will enable you to get a wider space for promotion. But I still can’t get the hang of SEO with social media and the backlinks as well. Pardon my ignorance but I am confused because SEO is the ranking of the website in search engines. Now I cannot understand the connection of SEO with social media. Maybe I have to study this subject matter more. Added knowledge for me.
