Animal activist, Vegans, & Vegetarians time to switch to Bitcoin

When it comes to world events Bitcoin has been showing up again and again with both positive and negative news. I think some more good news is rolling in and it involves the people who are fighting to protect animals both big and small. Some of us done realize that fiat currency is not made of paper. The united states dollar is made from cotton which is why its so hard to duplicate. The Canadian dollar is made from plastic and other similar materials. England has a new 5 pound note that they are putting into circulation and some people are not happy but why?

The new notes have been released with the intention of cutting down the amount resources it takes to make these bills. They are made out of polymer not paper which is harder to counterfeit. They are suppose to last 2.5 times longer which means they can print less cutting down the carbon footprint overall. The problem with these notes is that they are dipped in animal fat. Some tallow was found in one of the main ingredients to make these notes, tallow is a type of animal fat. Needless to say this has offended many people and a petition has been started and over 100,000 people have already signed the documents to have the banks remove this ingredient from the bills that are being made.

I am pretty sure its to late to change the bill now. What do you guys think? If this was your currency would you still use it? ?

Very interesting. As a vegan, one who is not into all the "the animals are suffering!", "stop consuming meat and diary" stuff I can say dipping a dollar bill in animal fat is a bit weird. So weird in fact, that I'll probably wear gloves when and if I had to touch it. In fact, most dollars are so contaminated that you probably should think about wearing latex gloves before handling them. There have been studies conducted that suggest there is feces, drug residue, h1n1 virus, etc on the bills.. pretty gross!

Now, I visited the website for the new 5 dollar bill, and saw this:

Just how exactly do they get their data to even know how many bills were burned, eaten or torn apart? Really makes you wonder if it isn't just made up statistics.. Look at the contaminated number: 2912. I wonder what it's contaminated with?!

Yes, switch to Bitcoin. They are safe, clean, and are probably the future currency!

Well i didn't even think about that actually. I think you have shined the light on how disgusting money is to begin with. Dipping it in animal fat just takes it to the next level i guess. All i know is that people are upset about it. These stats are obviously just estimates if these guys really think they know the exact count of damaged bills they are delusional. When they say contaminated i have no clue what they mean exactly but unless they did the contaminating themselves how would they actually know?

The fact that currency can carry so many different kinds of bacteria it is a surprise to me that terrorist have not figured out a way to use it in some crazy terror act. I don't want to give anybody any ideas but if serious organisms like H1N1 can be carried on money than we need to rethink the paper currency or eliminate it altogether. If everyone switched to Bitcoin and 2 other crypto currencies today, shut down the printing presses it could cut down so much cost and carbon killing the Earth.

I like how you say Bitcoin is the future currency and i really hope this is the case but a few things could come in the way of that happening. One of those is quantum computing this next generation of computing can decrypt the algorithm Bitcoin uses pretty easily. The other thing is scalability can Bitcoin be scaled fast enough for the masses to jump on or will people abandon ship like they did with ETH. Only time will tell what will happen but im just glad im apart of it 800 a coin here we go!

Oh yeah, just google just how dirty money actually is.. it's quite gross. To even think people don't wash their hands after handling money is nasty. I use to work as a part-time cashier, and after my shift my hands would be blackened from the dirty money. The smell of the hands was also gross too, enough to turn your stomach, it stinks!

I do think Bitcoin has a future, even if quantum computing can decrypt the algorithm. Algorithms can be changed, and they'll probably use the 'quantum" computers to hold the Bitcoin algorithm, or to create another algorithm. Just because someone or something can decrypt an algorithm doesn't mean they will stop all together - I hope!

Oh my gosh, I had no idea Jkeyz2 that is awful. My sister is a huge animal rights activist and a vegan. I will mention this to her, but I bet she is already on it.

I really what Everett had to say too. Seriously where do they come up with these statistics? Damn strange if you ask me.

Personally I would not be impressed to find that every bank note was dipped in animal fat, that is quite offensive.

They don't care about what people think and that is the problem. When you look at crypto currency especially coins like dash they are for the people and make sure that the people are taken care of and appreciate what they do. When it comes to banks its like they think people don't have a choice and they will just use it anyway. I just think Bitcoin is really paving the way for all currency to become digital and eliminate paper money altogether. We will see what happens in the next 5-10 years i know it sounds like a long time but time is flying.

Those statistics are outlandish and probably estimates. We are talking about the banks lol they can do anything they want they run the world. I just don't understand why they need to do this. They must have figured that some people would be upset about this. I agree its just awful i just hope that they don't have to slaughter animals for these bills. I hope that they get the ingredient from animals that are already dead. Then maybe then it wouldn't be totally bad but still really strange. Anyway hey i bet your virtual account is doing well!

Yes you are right about big corporations sometimes not caring what the people think or want. In our country we have a lot of that. We have a number of really large companies that hold a monopoly and prices and services are just shocking.

I hope this gets sorted out though, really disgusting. I do have to agree with you that cryptocurrency must be the way of the future, everything is pointing towards that.

Money is probably the dirtiest objects we will even touch in our lives, literally. I'm curious if money can spread any diseases, keep them away from young children, that's for sure, they tend to put everything in their mouths and I won't want my kid licking a banknote.

Some say a banknote contains way more germs than a toilet seat, thing is, only a few people wash their hand after handling money.

I agree with you money is pretty nasty. Now they added animal fat to the equation.

Pardon me for being skeptical in this issue because it is obviously a promotion of the Bitcoin. They just used the currency of Canada for that purpose of convincing the people that Bitcoin is clean. But then again, where is the stability of the Bitcoin when the value is going down? It is just like the same currency as the Canadian dollar. But the Canadian dollar is a legitimate currency that is backed up by the Canadian government. What is backing up Bitcoin’s value?
