Has anyone else noticed that company pages on LinkedIn has a new look?
It is loads better than the old look company page but I still don't think LinkedIn has made it much of a great experience for company owners.
There is not much functionality, so if you think perhaps having a LinkedIn company page is the equivalent (or even anything close) to a Facebook page then you will be sorely disappointed.
In fact I barely have any followers on my LinkedIn page and I don't find that it does much for me but I still post content to my LinkedIn Page.
Something I don't always do is post new content to it since I have to actually log into LinkedIn to post.
I've seen several changes across a lot of social media sites recently. YouTube has also updated is video pages so the layout is slightly different. It has a more tidier and flat like layout. It's subtle so if you don't use YouTube much you might not even notice it. But as I use it every day whether for myself or for clients I spot the smallest of changes as they happen.
I don't have a LinkedIn business page myself. I have my LinkedIn account, but I've been largely neglecting LinkedIn and not got into it as well as I have other social media / business related sites. I would imagine though like any business page or profile, you'll need to promote this and get people to follow it, like it whatever. Unless you're in a super popular niche and your LinkedIn page is the only one of its kind.
But it's probably that there are many of them on LinkedIn in the same niche/industry and they're all jostling to get followers for them in the same way. So unless you're doing that constantly you'll probably find it's a bit of a dormant / orphan page.
Are LinkedIn company pages public? I mean, are they indexed by Google? You could probably create quite powerful pages by buiding internal links to it somehow, in the way that I've been talking about and showing on here recently. That way even if you didn't have a lot of followers of it, you could still get some benefit from it. But it kind of really depends if they no follow external links or not?

Well Mike I am posting new content every week day now to my website and yeah I always share it on my LinkedIn page so yes I am building links to my website on my page, but I am not busy on LinkedIn much at all. I just share to it.
The thing is though that I am not sure you can comment as your page on other content like you can from your Facebook page right? Would commenting as my own profile work too, since obviously my personal profile and my company page are linked right? Would that also give link juice?
Then that should also work from my personal Facebook profile too since I have all my pages linked to my profile.
That's the thing I'm not sure how it works on LinkedIn properly and whether or not it's possible in any way to juice your profile up since it would only work if you could create links to your profile from places on LinkedIn which were publicly indexable by Google. So that it could see all those internal links pointing into your profile. But if your profile links to your business page with a do follow link (which it should if it's an internal link) then that would provide some link juice through to your business page too though yes.
Hmm ok then maybe I should spend a little more time there.... but oh wait... it is so BORING Mike. I don't want to spend any time there haha.
I have other social networks that are pumping like my mommy blog Facebook Page that is heading fast now towards 50k fans... I think that would be a better place to spend my time
That's awesome and that is just what will make me get back to the account I have on that site and see ways that I can improve my presence over there.
