Google Quick Draw Project - AI

Google further developing artificial intelligence by evolving a new project called Google quick draw and is based on an artificial neural network that is able to recognize drawings made by humans.

Just by interesting with this artificial intelligence you can help it grow and understand drawings. You can take a test here: https://quickdraw.withgoogle.com/

You will have to draw six different things, usually very simple stuff like a canoe or different animals like a scorpion, elephant, whale or whatever. You will have only 20 seconds to make a basic drawing after which Google Quick Draw will have to decide and guess whatever you made.

The trick I found is to visualize the thing you need to draw before you hit the start button. I've managed to land 3 our of 6 drawings even though I'm the worst person I know when it comes to drawing stuff, especially nontechnical stuff.

Here is my results:

Wow that's quite clever and impressive! And very addictive! My drawing sucks and sometimes I'm lost for how things should look or be drawn even though I could recognize those objects. For example it asked me to draw a squid and even though my drawing more resembled that of odd sock than it did a squid it still guessed it right lol. But then, it is telling you what to draw so it can surely guess what it is from what it's told you to draw? If that makes sense? What I'd like to be able to do is draw something I choose, some random object I choose instead of what it tells me to draw and then seeing if it can guess that.

Still though, it's quite clever and this is quite scary when you think of how this could develop. How it could get so smart that it would be able to tell what's in an image just from the shapes. They say that Google can't see what's in an image, although I don't know how true that is because if you search in Google images for an image and click on one image, it shows you similar images to it. If it can't see what's in the image, how does it know how to show you similar images?

I guess Google could integrate this into Google images or just Google Search altogether. But I'm sure they've got other plans and ideas for it. Example, I see this being used in schools to help kids to draw. And how lucky they are today, we never had this back in my day! lol Google Quick Draw Project - AI

Oh that is way cool, but like Mike has said Google Quick Draw tells you what to draw so they know it can only be out of those things that they have in their system right?

It would be interesting to see what would happen if you could draw anything you like and then it will guess what that is right?

I'm interested in what Mike said about the Google images, the Google can't tell what is in the image yet, but then like he said how can they offer similar images? Does this work according to what the file name is when it is uploaded to Google, the alt tags or maybe the photo description?

This probably stems from the same technology facebook uses to find finds in certain photos. This technology is coming out more and more. Not only is social networking websites using this technology but also governments as well. The technology finds patterns, saves them into the database and then it finds the pattern again basically.

There was once a plugin for a script that could detect if the user's uploaded image was X rated, or contained nudity. That plug in was very interesting because I wondered exactly how they detected if nudity was being shown. Only very little did this plug in get incorrect results, but you could always resubmit it and it wouldn't error out or be wrong.

I can not remember what they plugin was called, so if anyone else knows what I am talking about or knows of something similar feel free to reply to this comment. Google Quick Draw Project - AI
