You're absolutely right. So many people do look this over and it's crazy lol. I am also a statistic in this because sometimes I'll forget to do it and then I'll have to go through my images and tweak them Simple SEO Hack - adding Alt Tags to Images

Another thing that I practice is saving the images so the file name has the keyword in it as well. You never know when Google, Yahoo! or Bing will do an update that will target optimized file names lol. Stay ahead of the game and do this so that you can spike in the rankings if they ever do decide to implement this to their search algorithm Simple SEO Hack - adding Alt Tags to Images

I do an SEO audit for all my clients at least once a month when doing this audit I scan everything with Screaming Frog and this cool crawler has a special section that shows me what images don't have an alt tag implemented yet so nothing gets left out.

Lynne you are right, very few webmasters without an SEO background know the benefits from having an alt tag for every image on their websites making it possible to get additional organic traffic directly to your images.

Yes I have often had people ask me how to rank their websites and I go through some basics and very often they have never heard of adding alt tags to their images. Another huge problem is often the size of their images, they upload massive images and then wonder why their websites are so slow!

Yeah sometimes I forget to do something here and there too but in general I have my checklist that I follow each and every time I create content and adding alt tags to images is on that list as is naming my image files as my keywords too.

I know that you can tag your images when you upload it on a web page. But what keyword should you add? Does this constitute the normal keyword for the web page that you have to do a research and analysis so you can come up with a big time keyword that can give more traffic to your site via that image? Pardon me for asking because I am getting confused with the so many procedures involving keywords.
