Superb ideas but usually don't take action or put in enough effort. - What to do?!

Hey Freelancers,
I usually have tons of ideas but honestly speaking, even though I do put in tons of effort in various projects and ideas I've had, I still feel that I don't put in enough effort into all of the ideas I have. - I still sit here with hundreds of different ideas and I have to leave them on the table due to the lack of commitment. Which in other words means that I leave money on the table too, and that sucks.

However, that's only half true. Even though I am what you would call a "idéspruta" in Sweden, which basically means that you're a person full of ideas, I don't have enough time to do something about all of them.. And, I also lack some commitment at the same time.

So, what would you do, and what can you do?
Have you ever experienced anything like this?

Having same problem. Sometime having so many ideas and can't make good enough priority to do one by one, but if i ever start to do more then one at the time, there is problem after. It's good to make "to do list" and list them by priority, then pick one and invest time on it until it's fully launched and promoted.

Yes I agree with you there. It is important not to take on too much and then leave some projects only half finished!

This is the difficulty I am having with the website I want to launch for next year!

All what you need is to push yourself, you wouldn't your desires if you do not push it.

I can't remember how many times I just feel like leaving many jobs on the table but I still have to do it anyway because I work online full time but I remember the bills to pay I juggle up.

you can't be a billionaire over night you need to start buckling up so as to achieve your desires.

This is a very good advice and I'm actually a rather frequent user of to do lists, but I'm still having problems with this. I'm that kind of person who loves to have tons of things to do at the same time, but I also struggle because of that, as I usually end up with too much things to do, and then I'm running out of energy or losing focus.

Andre I can totally relate. Yes I am committed and yes I love working on projects but I just don't have the time and the energy to go with those ideas to get them off the ground.

I am full of ideas and if I had the time and energy to go with them I would be a billionaire by now. It is frustrating to say the least.

I can't really advise you since I have similar problems but the only thing I can suggest now is to choose what you will commit to and stick to that until it takes off. Then see what else you can get to.

What I would really love is two things. One business partner, someone that is 100% trustworthy and as hardworking and dedicated as I am and one employee that is 100% trustworthy and loyal to do all the little things that I just can't get to.

The problem is that I don't know how to find those two people and I just don't want to risk anything that I have worked so hard for by trusting someone that doesn't deserve it.

Right now when it comes to hard work and dedication there is one person I trust 100% and that is my dad, but he is not into working online!

Thank you Lynne, I totally understand you. I have a small team of members but that's only for my main business which is brand building. As I am a person who always have ideas and want to "spread my wings further" so to speak, I would need to expand my business, hire other team members or get myself a partner too. - Even though I might know where I could potentially get them, I actually can't, as I can't tell if and when I will be able to kick-start something new.. It's depressing!

I honestly wish that i either had more energy or that one day is made up of many more hours. Sadly I am stuck with a limited time, and by 3pm my kids are back from school and i can barely do anything else, apart from the fact that i get very tired nonetheless as writing takes time and effort. I guess you could try to list your ideas so that maybe sometimes you manage to see to them. Some of them could be done by outsourcing them to others maybe? It depends on whether it is cost effective and feasible though.

Yes I feel the same way and I fetch my kids at 1pm! There is just not enough time and then when I do finally get some time, like at 11pm LOL I am too tired and I can't work anymore.

Thank you EliteWriter, I appreciate your reply. Outsourcing is extremely effective and that's actually how I managed to launch my main business. However, as I run out of energy and losing focus I can't really tell how and when I will be able to start something new, and as I don't know if it will work or not before I've tried it myself, I can't really hire someone to do it for me either.. - It's tricky!

I think its just the illusion of having ideas, it is something I'm also experience, I think to myself that I have this great potential projects I can always start but for some reason I start only a fraction of them, I do not put what I think into action and that's the real problem right here, not knowing to choose the ideas that have real potential and just have the courage to run with them.

We always make up excuses like "I forgot"; "I was busy" and stuff like this, truth is we need to prioritize out ideas and put them into action.

This is very true Cristian and I actually talked to procoder yesterday about one of my ideas. Unfortunately, he didn't thought it would be as good as I first thought but it was the first step of trying to do something about one of my ideas at least, so I'm actually satisfied.

The essence of having those great ideas is t ensure you put them into use for no matter how great and nice an idea looks, without effective implementation, it is not better than a tissue paper. So, whenever you have such superb ideas, try as much as you can to start putting them into actions and see how far you're going to go with it.

I know of someone like you who is a genius when it comes to theories, ideas and concepts but lacks the volition for action. What he did was to hire an industrial partner who would put into action his good ideas. As I see it, the partnership is doing great and my friend have also learned to do some action for his part.
