What do you think about Youtube Community?

Hey Guys! Some of you may have heard that Youtube is testing new features , and soon will release them for the public. Feature which I’m talking about it’s still in beta, and it will be available for all very soon. The new tab “Community” on your youtube channel, will let you post things like, text, images,videos,GIFs, same things that you can post on facebook,twitter or any other social media.

What do you think about Youtube Community?
Community it’s a great feature, and I think that all youtube users will have many benefits from this, as people love Youtube. Another good thing from this feature is that, users can opt-in to your post to get notification anytime you post.

Yeah, as Mike said, timeline would be much better name for it...
Anyway, since YouTube is very popular community and social network, i believe this is very good addition to it, and this feature can bring a lot of popularity, traffic and business to every one. Since Google Plus is feeling like hunted city, this is awesome to have.
I personally hear about this new feature for first time and somehow i feel this can be much more poplar for many people then Facebook. Posting links, photos, articles etc... can bring a lot of power to everyone seriously involved in this. So as soon it's publicly available, i believe i am going to play a lot with this new social media toy

Oh this will be so awesome, I can't wait to see how this affects my Youtube channel!

I am loving Youtube and adding a community section where I can add more information will really add value and so much more engagment.

This is the first time I am hearing about the new Youtube Community so you have made my Monday morning for me Procoder!

Do you have any idea when this new Youtube Community feature will be available to everyone? I want to make sure I am like first in with making use of it when it is available LOL.

Oh cool. Very useful feature, rather surprised YouTube actually implemented something useful these days. I'm sure popular YouTubers will make the best of it and will develop and maintain their community conversations. I think these types of "community" discussions were always taken in the comment sections of videos or even on other platforms like facebook for example, so that's why Google has made this move implementing this types of features.

Wonder if only the channel owner can post topics on the Community section. Also, I'm getting the feeling that only hard-core fans will end up there, you actually need to go to the channel page and click this community tab right?

I think lot of channels get trolling and heat on their comment section. The reason being youtube users often have some weird way to respond to the content. And that means you have to find out how to balance such community with proper moderation. I think many such youtube channels use comment moderation. So not a lot of comment pass through. And that should be the way to manage the trolls. Because just like any other social media, this community sometimes go out of hand.

This discussion is 2 years old. They have made some major changes to YouTube. I followed the link provided to see the Beta release. Because I had a custom URL for my Google Plus account, I was given a custom URL for YouTube. But with the changes, the old custom URL disappeared and I had to create a brand new channel. I figured if this "Community" thing was officially launched then it should show on my new channel. But I don't see anything that says "Community". I do see a link that says "Discussion" on my channel. Is this it? (O.o)
