Instagram is easy to use and loads of fun!

Ok so I have been very resistant to using Instagram since I have never liked using my phone for apps. I like to use my phone as little as possible and leave it for urgent phone calls.

I am not quite sure when this happened because I used to love being connected with people. It probably has something to do with the fact that since I started working online I am constantly connected with so many people that when I am finished work I like to turn off my laptop and that's it, I am "disconnected.

Anyway back to Instagram. Within a few days of joining I have 166 followeres and I have posted 17 times. I have followed a good few people and liked some images. I have had one hit on my website from Instagram.

I have found that most of the users I come across are women, which is cool because the website I added in my profile is my mommy blog so it is women I want to connect with.

Instagram is quite fun and I am getting into the swing of things, trying different types of posts.

I can see that people like pics of kids, of food and of plants. Yes strange isn't it? I have just taken pics of whatever is closest and happening in my life.

Here are the pics that were the most liked:

First place - a pic of my daughter laughing with 22 likes.

Instagram is easy to use and loads of fun!

Second place is a pic of my cherry tomato and marigold plants..

Instagram is easy to use and loads of fun!

In Third place we have my two kids looking cute...

Instagram is easy to use and loads of fun!

And here in fourth place we have my daughter's breakfast this morning. It looked tasty so I took a pic and up it went...

Instagram is easy to use and loads of fun!

I have to admit I am enjoying this and I am enjoying trying to see what is popular and playing around with it. It seems like people like the black and white pics but for my plants and the breakfast I wanted the brightness so I never went black and white.

What have you found works on Instagram? And how much traffic do you get from Instagram?

A little trick that I've figured out with instagram should help you increase your likes and followers Instagram is easy to use and loads of fun!

When you're adding tags to your photos, be very generous lol. You can add a lot of content to the description of the photos so use it all up if you can. Add your quick one sentence description and then load the rest up with tags so that you rank in the searches for those keywords. But that's not the only thing you have to do, you have to pick your tags wisely. If you pick a ton of competitive tags then your picture may not show up as one of the top 9 or 12 (I don't remember how many it shows lol). Pick some lower competition tags that would be slightly obscure to the common person but would fit in perfectly to your niche. These types of keywords are slightly easier to rank for in a quicker time. And once you rank for these lower competition keywords you will get more likes and followers who will begin to snowball your marketing and increase all of your images. Once you do this enough you will notice that you can now rank for the lower ranking keywords and difficult keywords at the same time because you're pulling in the easy likes from the lower competition keywords which will boost your picture for the more difficult keywords ;)

Basically you're going to use a select few keywords every time in your post to boost up your likes so that you can jump to the top for the difficult keywords. Use the easy keywords to dominate the difficult ones Instagram is easy to use and loads of fun!

I hope that makes sense lol.

I usually just copy and paste the tags into the bottom of each of my posts and I get 200+ likes almost overnight and then a lot more if the image hits the top 12 for the competitive keywords Instagram is easy to use and loads of fun!

One more thing...

I've noticed that people on instagram like pictures of kids, food, plants, motivational quotes, expensive things (watches, yachts, cars, houses, etc.) If you post about those and use the method I mentioned above, you should be able to dominate your niche Instagram is easy to use and loads of fun!

The only problem though, I don't know how easy it would be to post about yachts, expensive cars and watches for your niche lol Instagram is easy to use and loads of fun!

LOL Razzy I took a while to reply because I have been processing what you have said... well you know women can go for expensive things, think diamond rings and other jewellery? Designer handbags... the sky is the limit here.

Thanks for all your tips I really appreciate it. I am going to be doing lots of experimenting in the next few days Instagram is easy to use and loads of fun!

I am enjoying this more than I thought I would.

I haven't used Instagram to actually post pictures or basically to do anything at all. This is mostly due to me not having a mobile phone, but an Apple iPod. I tend to use my iPod for gmail, messenger app (facebook), alarms, and imessage and that's basically it. I don't take great pictures, or even know what kind of pictures to take.

Another thing is, I hate taking pictures of myself. I can not take a good picture. When I was little I use to always take pictures, or want my picture taken but now I despise it! LOL. So if I don't want to use instagram for my own selfies what exactly do I use it for? Pictures of nature, or my weekend experiences? I don't know!

Well from what I can see nature pics do quite nicely Everett Instagram is easy to use and loads of fun! So perhaps it would be worth trying that out?

You saw my tomato plants and marigolds did really nicely. I posted a pic of some flowers growing outside my house today and that got some likes and even a comment... why not?

Nowadays there are so many social media options that you can end up spending most of your day posting and commenting and liking. It is nice to connect, especially if you need the followers. It is without doubt a whole new opportunity for your marketing possibilities whenever you use a new platform. However you need to be on the alert so as not to get too addicted to them, because they tend to be quite addictive and you may end up using up a good deal of your time on them. Don't get me wrong, it is lovely that you use Instagram, but I know a good many people who are using such platforms a bit too much. It could end up being counterproductive.

Oh I know exactly what you mean EliteWriter. In the past I have spent way too much time focusing on social networks, that was about 3 or 4 years ago.

I actually have my software set to follow and unfollow people and once or twice a day I post something to Instagram and go and like a few images.

I know all too well now that I just have a look around and suddenly I've been sucked right in and hours have gone by. I make sure to always just do an in and out on social media now.

I have not a consistent user of Instagram, but I must confess that the lots of videos and pictures uploaded by users of Instagram made it a fun place to be in and that is the reason many people still see that as the best social media site for uploading pictures.

I usually post selfies and other photos on Facebook. Last week, I got wind of the details of Instagram that I can make money from my pictures. But first, I need to have a thousand followers. That’s not easy but it can be done. To think that I will be doing what I have been doing in Facebook, that’s a pretty good benefit if ever I become an influencer. Anyway, I have to gather my good pictures for posting. And since I have tons of photos, that isn’t a problem anymore.
