Putting posts into moderation will help you fight spam. You may have to sift through a bunch of crap if you get hit with a few pieces of software just automating posts, but it's worth it in the long run because your blog will stay looking professional and no one will even know there are people and software posting spam in attempts to get higher rankings in the SERPs. You can set your posts to be moderated and nothing will show up on your blog unless you give it the thumbs up. I do this will all my websites and blogs so that I can catch any crappy posts with hundreds of links in it that are obviously spam. I also do this with all my writers just in case they get their accounts hacked into and a bunch of spam posts start popping up. Putting posts into moderation will help you fight spam.
