How to ghost people's comments in blog that effective to stop spammers from spamming my blog? Is there a code or tool that ghost comments,
I think they would need to be a member of your blog first. And then you would have an option to ghost that user. Similar to how Reddit works. Once you are ghosted on Reddit, anything you post only shows to you when you're logged in. Log out and your comments etc don't show. But with WordPress you cannot do that as it's not available as an option by default. All you can do is delete their comments. Or, block their host range IP from commenting again and list them as spam so that Akismet (or whatever spam plugin you're using) can add them (their email and IP address) to the spam list. Also there is no plugin that can do this that I know of either because once again, it would mean they need to be a user of that blog. Where as anyone can leave a comment without being a user of it. Even if you set it so that only registered users can comment on your blog. There is no plugin that can "ghost" them. All you can do is delete and mark as spam.

You can set your posts to be moderated and nothing will show up on your blog unless you give it the thumbs up. I do this will all my websites and blogs so that I can catch any crappy posts with hundreds of links in it that are obviously spam. I also do this with all my writers just in case they get their accounts hacked into and a bunch of spam posts start popping up.
Putting posts into moderation will help you fight spam. You may have to sift through a bunch of crap if you get hit with a few pieces of software just automating posts, but it's worth it in the long run because your blog will stay looking professional and no one will even know there are people and software posting spam in attempts to get higher rankings in the SERPs.
Basically you'll need to block the IPs via IP blocker in your website hosting account, or by .htaccess files. There is numerous list of spam IP addresses, and you can also block those crawlers, and other bots with this method as well.
Here's an example using a .htaccess file:
Thank you for posting the information on how to block the IP address of a spamming commenter on blogs. I had experience in blocking a user in forums but not in blogs yet. But I know there is a way to block the user and here it is above. When the comment undergoes moderation then that is a good safeguard against spamming because we have to deal with the fact that spammers are always there, lurking and waiting for an opportunity to post their intention.
WOW! I've never heard of "ghost comments" and based on the comments this sound like a headache!
I don't think it's worth the time or trouble to ghost comments. It's not like showing the comment just to them has much of an effect anyway--most of them won't even notice. As the others have mentioned you can moderate comments and/or block IPs. But if you have a less busy blog you can also just review comments by email and delete spammy ones. That way your real commenters don't have to wait for moderation but spam also doesn't stay up for long.
