I need some advice and this is related to a problem that I have had on two of my websites on a number of occasions.
If I am not logged in then I can't comment or submit a guest blog post. I have had feedback from some of my readers that they have had the same problem.
Here is the error message I just got and that is always the problem:
Please can you explain to me why I am getting this error and how I can resolve it?
Are you using Wordpress? If yes, try to disable any plugin(s) that you have installed recently, because sometimes plugins conflict with each other and cause malfunction on the site. Try to deactivate them one by one, as that will help you to figure out who is causing it.
Are you sure you want to delete this post?
Thanks Procoder. I did this and it was WP Spamshield. So now there are no problems with comments and guest posts coming in... but I am getting spammed big time in my comments. Now I am not sure what to do.
Hard to tell just like this, without looking at your website. Submitting guest post or comments should be switched OFF for not logged in users anyway, for spam protection reasons. But in that case, comment form would not be visible at all. So could be some theme problem, or could be number of other reasons. If you wish, PM me your URL and i will try to check as visitor...
Thanks... I have found the problem but it has created another problem for me. I disabled the WP Spamshield and now it is all working fine... except for the spam comments coming in which are really annoying.
WordPress right? You don't have "Users must be registered and logged in to comment" enabled on your Discussion Settings page do you? (/wp-admin/options-discussion.php)
Likewise, on the same settings page, you DO have "Allow people to post comments on new articles" ticked right?
That's the first thing to check!
It could be a conflicting plugin. Try to disable any recent plugins you've added and try again (when logged out) see if you can replicate it.
I've Google that error message and found several posts about it which appear to have been resolved.
Hopefully looking through them you might be able to gleam some information from them on how to resolve it.
Or the search itself if you need to dig deeper.
Thanks Mike. I found the problem.... it was my WP Spamshield. If I have that on then I have problems with comments and forms not being sent in.
Of course now that I have disabled that I have a comment spam fest going on. Now I don't know what to do again.
Did you had this problem for a long time or this is just recent compatibility issues? WP spamshield is pretty solid plugin, I doubt they have any serious bugs, though your theme may not agree with the plugin.
Maybe you did some code changes that caused all these problems? I'm sure a good coder can fix the compatibility issues without the need to you disabling the plugin.
Must be thanks for the nice article it is the nice way to find where are saved passwords in microsoft edge and access the all setting of secure data base.
