What is your Facebook Posting Schedule like?

I have been using Facebook for a good few years now and I have one very successful page that I have put blood, sweat and tears into building.

I am just wondering whether you have found that there is an optimal amount of times to share on Facebook or perhaps the time between posts is important?

I have found that since my page is geared towards moms in South Africa I usually only send out posts during our day time hours and a few in the evening, but not after about 10pm at night.

I used to have a much busier posting schedule of every hour from about 7am to 10pm at night but I have found that I have better traffic through to my website when I post less often.

When I was focusing a lot on facebook I had it automated to post twice a day so that I could target two different time frames during the day. I wanted to be sure everyone saw my posts and if I did it only once a day, I would miss a lot of people. I'm sure that by posting twice a day I would miss a lot of people daily, but I'm sure they would see my post at least once during that week if I stuck to the twice a day schedule What is your Facebook Posting Schedule like?

What I would do is automate it with hootsuite and have 2 different posts go out each day. I would target the people who didn't work that day and my first post would go out around 10am or 11am. This way I would be in the window where they are already done with breakfast, done dropping the kids off at school (if they had kids), and were sitting down behind their laptop to check stuff What is your Facebook Posting Schedule like? My second post would come later in the day, around 7pm or 8pm. I would target this time because the kids are home from school, the parents are home from work, dinner is done, and the day is starting to get long but not too long What is your Facebook Posting Schedule like?

I saw some success in this because it wasn't like I was spamming people a message and they were only seeing my posts maybe once or twice a week regardless of the 14 posts a week I was doing. They didn't feel like I was shoving my message down their throat so they were more willing to click through What is your Facebook Posting Schedule like?

Thanks Razzy can you maybe tell me how many fans you have on your page for that posting schedule? Do you think the amount of followers or fans you have changes how often you should post?

I make my posting often in the noon atleast most countries are up then at least from my map observation.

So to get a lot if respond, it always good to.post when countries are up and about and also hope they aren't busy to login.

For the few clients I keep facebook pages for, well, I usually post 5 to 10 times per week. Most posts are set for the mornings, like 10AM max.
Depends on the niche really, the hours when potential clients may be around. For example, if you have a travel based facebook page, you should do more posting on weekends, since people need time to look up accommodations, they won't go into much details if they're at the office, especially if they need to book a room.

I have found that I have better traffic through to my website when I post less often.

There's been studies conducted that would look into how often a user would click on a post from their feed. it appears that users are more likely to click on a post from a page they like if the page posts less often, or when the page/website creates new content. There's an information overload occurring with social media, and it is very likely that a lot of your likers may not see the post due to their profile settings, or facebooks algorithm.

Do you tell your page likers to turn on page notifications? This may help you, and also help your likers.

Oh no Everett I never thought of telling my fans to turn on page notifications. I'll give that a go What is your Facebook Posting Schedule like?

And yes I have noticed that if I post new content to my page there is a much better click through rate than when I post older content.

I agree with you that there is a huge information overload with social media, it gets so bad for me that I spend as little time as possible on social networks! I just can't handle all the activity going on. I used to love it, but now that my career is working online I look at social media in a purely professional way and I don't like to spend more than a few minutes a day checking on my own profiles.

I believe that it is very important to post regularly, but not be too spammy as some followers may find it a bit annoying. So I would not post every single day, but maybe up to 3-4 times a week. I think that as long as you know at which times your audience is most likely to be online, you should make the most out of it. In your case mums are generally online in the early afternoon when they are having some lunch, and maybe when they put their kids to bed. I think that early evening is a good bet, although you may find some people who are online in the morning while they are at work, but these are not going to be a majority.

I post "as needed" basis. I don't have a fixed schedule. I have friends and clients from around the world, which means my friends and followers are always available. At the time when a follower/client is sleeping in India, another client/follower will be working. When I cannot contact Indian client/follower, I can readily reach people in the US or Canada. Likewise, I can reach people in Japan when Europeans are not available, When I can reach Europeans, Japanese will be asleep already.
Thus, I don't have a schedule. I share when ever I want, if it gets poor response because most of the clients were offline, I will reshare it.

I used to be on Facebook once in a blue moon. But when I got for friends many of my relatives who are residing abroad, I had changed my Facebook habit to almost every day. But now, I log in about 3 times a week unless there are messages that I am waiting for. To be honest, Facebook is a waste of time so the most that I get there is once a day. Unlike others who stay logged in for the whole day, I have a busy schedule and even if I like to log in often, I cannot afford it.

Yeah, having a definite schedule of when to post on your timeline, groups and other platforms on Facebook could be a way that one can really improve the communication that exists between his/her Facebook followers and he/she. I am in Nigeria, and the best time to always post here is in the morning so that by evening, the post would be refreshed for many to read it and learn one or two things from it.
