Is using traffic exchange good?

If you ever asked your self if using traffic exchange websites is good or bad, then i would say, they have good and maybe more bad side effects.

First of all, TE sites offer large number of visits to your blog, but they viewing it for short time, like 5 - 10 seconds and it's very high bounce rate traffic, so it's not recommended. Views by these visitors are very low conversion rate because they mostly run to collect as many points / credits to gain traffic for their websites.

If you have Adsense ads on your blog, then DON'T use traffic exchanges, because you can be banned from Adsense and lose your revenues. Traffic exchanges mostly using iframes to show your website and Google will recognize it and probably penalize / ban you from Adsense due to their terms of services.

A trick I use for traffic exchanges and my own website is to not send it directly to my main website Is using traffic exchange good?

I'll use a website that is only a few pages and send the traffic there. I'll also have all the links on that page be nofollow so that I don't get credit for it in my SEO campaigns. I'll have the small website promote something I'm trying to sell, but I won't sell it right there. The person will have to click through to my website, which will open in a new tab, and they can read what I have on there. By doing this you will not interrupt their surfing through the traffic exchange and they will be happy.

Another way to increase your click through rating is to have text on the page that says something along the lines of "All the links on this page open in a new tab. Clicking the links will not interrupt your traffic exchange surfing." This way people will know it's ok to click through and it won't screw up what they were doing on the other website Is using traffic exchange good?

Now this really only works for manual traffic exchanges where people have to click the "Next" button after they've been on the website for a designated time. I've actually bought traffic packages from traffic exchanges and did this technique to pull in clients. You don't get thousands of clients, but the ones you do get are going to stick with you for a while Is using traffic exchange good? Some of the sales I get on my sites are from people I pulled in from last year through a manual traffic exchange Is using traffic exchange good?

Oh yes, i forgot to mention, if anyone using traffic exchange sites it's smart idea to create separate landing page(s) for that purpose, make them smaller size to feet in the window and eye catchy ;)

I sell a traffic exchange script and use to own my own traffic exchange website.. here's a little bit of what I learned:
  • Many people just want traffic, however they fail to do any type of SEO. They think that by using a traffic exchange they will get sales, which is hardly ever the case. Surely that may have been how it was done years ago but time and method has changed now.
  • A small percentage of people whom use traffic exchanges actually sell the traffic they acquire
  • A portion of users actually make money via the affiliate system if a traffic exchange allows referrals. I know a couple of people who make up to $500 a month by referring people to traffic exchanges

Yeah, i owned traffic exchange years ago when it was really trend to boost traffic that way and boost Alexa rank, so i have some experience in that field too and your points are so true. It was good business too to sell traffic back then.

I can only speak from my persona experience and I have to say that I found that traffic exchange and PTC traffic was awful. My bounce rate shot through the roof, the amount of time spent on my website per visit was only a few seconds. I got no conversions and my traffic reports were a mess.

I am not sure if this had an effect on my rankings or not as I only tried this out briefly but I would think that because the traffic is such shoddy quality it would have a detrimental effect on my website if I used a lot of traffic exchange traffic. I wouldn't advise traffic exchanges.

Why would anyone want low quality traffic with low page on site along with 100% bounce rate most probably, I just don't get it.
Not even your alexa rank will improve with traffic exchange since in essence its fake.

When it comes to social media exchanges, like followers and likes at least I can understand the idea, you get to "look" more popular than you really are.
But nobody wants to see you GA and even if you are trying to flip a website the 100% bounce rate and low time on site will give huge signals to any serious potential buyer.

Traffic exchange with PTC and some auto surf sites are nothing but the waste of the money. And that's where the things are going to be bad. You may end up wasting a lot of money. So it is reasonable to use the traffic exchange in such case there as well. I have used the traffic exchange for the site promotion and it added no value for me there.

What is the ultimate purpose or getting traffic to your website? Increasing sales or generating ad clicks. Traffic exchange sends a large number of visitors because these traffic exchange sites have a very big member base. They compensate these members when they visit the websites. When the members visit websites, they are only trying to earn a reward, they don't care about the content of the website. They will remain on the site for a short time. Your views will increase, but the views are just a number, there is no conversion rate, no sales no ad clicks.

I guess that any means of getting traffic is good unless it can be harmful like what they say with Google penalties of having too many keywords or excessive backlinks. But using a traffic exchange is only feasible if you have the time to spare. For a small website owner I guess the traffic exchange is not much needed anymore as long as you do some other SEO methods like spreading your backlinks in social media.

I used to, but i heard it's really bad now.. What we do is we buy traffic (actually real traffic and not bots) on SoChillPanel.com .. We use it for our own websites.

P.S: I have zero affiliation with the site.
