Google Trends has changed, did you notice?

I spent quite a bit of time on Google Trends this week and there have some changes, have you noticed?

The Trending of Time Map feature has been removed and so has the News and Forecast Buttons.

Here are some cool features that have now been added:

  • Historical data by day
  • Excel export of all data
  • Mobile Embed
  • Filtering of search terms (geographical and time)
  • Geographical comparisons

And of course it has a fresh new look and feel. Navigation is easier and it is so much simpler to use.

Have I left anything out? What do you think of the changes to Google Trends?

Interesting. Thanks for sharing this information. Didn't even notice it since i was very busy with other things at home, so didn't visit Google Trends last 7-8 days. Will be checking on it later today, because it's good to keep updated with latest trends.

Oh yes, I suggest you have a squizz. I quite like the new look and the cool features. Cristian picked up that I missed something important. You can compare 5 search terms now, before it was 4.

Wow. Haven't used Google Trends this week. Glad to see they're improving an already incredible feature!
Checking it out now and the design is definitely different.

And another thing, maybe I'm mistaken but it seems they added another slot when comparing multiple terms. It used to be 4 max and now 5 is the limit. Also love the fact that you can export everything in excel, that's so useful when creating reports for clients!

Hi Cristian. Oh I didn't realize it was now 5, yes I love that because I am always using the comparisons and I got miffed that there were so few, one up yay!

Yes I also love to be able to export my data, not for reports but for myself. I find the whole user interface nice to use now.

I was discussing that with my friend earlier in the day when he told me that it really shows that Google truly cares about its users.

I haven’t used Google Trends in a long time and it is not surprising to learn about the enhancements. I agree that Google is like Microsoft which doesn’t stop in the improvement of their products much more in satisfying the users. Maybe that concern of Google with its users is what makes it the number 1 in terms of usage particularly the search engine and other products.
