Twitter decline and downfall - What do you think?

Is Twitter on its way out?

I recent years twitter has shown its inability to keep growing, which lead to a lot of instability coming from investors.

Twitter decline and downfall - What do you think?

Don’t get me wrong twitter is the best micro-blogging platform out there, it’s perfect for sharing links and news in general, but the social aspect of twitter is not that evolved.

Mobile apps Whatsapp had started to gain a lot of momentum when it comes to direct text communication, they made things very easy for people to create their own private rooms where ads and outside influences can’t touch them.

Twitter has missed out on these kinds of features and will lose a lot on the long run because of this.

On the other hand, there are also other factors to take into consideration when it comes to Twitter stagnation.

Even though this is a private company and they have the right to choose their users, Twitter has shown a bias attitude towards racial disputes and conflict, this can turn out to be a huge mistake for a platform this size, users can just leave and use another free platform that seems more “democratic”.

What do you think? Any chance that twitter will die off in the following years?

Twitter should evolve by adding new features, or at least borrowing features from its competitors...

Exactly! By doing and keeping the same features, they'll eventually become a niche based social media website. Just for sharing news, links and short messages - but in essence you can do this with other platforms that also offer extended features.

Not really sure if these stats are right. But even if it's correct i still get best conversion from Twitter marketing. I agree there is a lot of people using Facebook and other social media networks, but when we talking about conversion and monetizing, from my experience, Twitter is KING for many years. I tried Facebook in many ways, it work different and it converts, but i never reached such good results like on Twitter. Even nowadays is the same. I agree that Twitter could do a lot more to improve their services and get more interesting to teens world, but maybe there is something on the way, who knows. Instagram is more interesting in it's own way, but it's hard to convert into marketing results

I had no idea that Twitter was on the decline. I have been quite successful using Twitter in the last few months and I have found, like Anwebservices that this is the social network with the best conversions.

I do like the better functionality that other social networks have that Twitter doesn't but I was under the impression that part of what Twitter users liked was the simpleness of it.

I'm not so certain if these stats are correct as well. I always have an issue with "statistics" ran by websites. Not only do statistics change almost every day, sometimes they are just wrong. Now with all that being said, we must now group the social networks into companies:

Instagram, and Whatsapp are own and operated by Facebook. Twitter, and WeChat are not owned by facebook. These statistics can be pretty biased because whenever something in real time happens, most people are tweeting about it. So if Twitter is declining, then that will probably mean that there isn't live real world events happening. However, do to the Olympics, you can be reassured that Twitter users are going to be tweeting about it therefore boosting the website's activity, and overall traffic. Also, you could probably see the stock market price jump accordingly.

Well, the stats are pretty correct, Twitter has stopped growing for a couple of years now. Investors are pretty worried. They also had tons of changes at the top, like a bunch of different CEOs, not a really good sign of stability.

There are even talks about Twitter being bought in the near future.

Every day in the news, there’s always an item about the Tweet of Donald Trump. At least in CNN. And if that is an indication, well, the president of the United States of America is on Twitter. For sure, he has so many followers, can be old and new Twitter accounts. Twitter is still running second to Facebook in terms of users and probably will stay that way for a long time because people have gotten used to sending message bursts.
