How do you feel about criticism?

Blogging is not hard; you keep your self fresh and original and will not have to worry about a thing as long as you are catching people's interest you are good to go correct? Well we all know every one is entitled to there opinion no doubt about it, how do my fellow bloggers feel about being criticized whether it's just the side you chose to support or just your writing as a whole like the saying goes somebody's always a critic. So how do you deal with that? And, do you let it effect emotionally or can you feed on that energy and push yourself to progress?

I guess it depend on what is criticized and who is criticizing. Sometime it can be very helpful or can be very very annoying. I accept criticism from someone relevant and experienced and i like to discuss about the matter, but usually i am looking for better advice from someone who is criticizing. So if one have to criticize then i would like to hear from same person what is better solution and how it could be done better. If the person can't offer better solution then i don't accept critics as well, because it looks just like he / she is annoying you without knowing better way to do it...

Yeah, getting criticism from someone whom clearly does not know what they are talking about is very annoying. Some people think they know all about something, and are so passionate about it but fail to realize that they have no idea of what they are talking about and look like an idiot.

I have to sometimes go through this from time to time, and can say first hand that people try to act like they know it all. So when someone tries to critique something, and are suggesting that they know what they are talking about and clearly don't I basically hand it to them in a professional manner and they then later apologize.

I don't joke about constructive criticism, it can be very helpful and really helps in life's journey but any negative criticism borne out of envy and I sense it l will not listen to it twice.I will just ignore.

Its better to take the criticism positively. If someone suggest anything which can help my writing, I wont mind on that! The main issue is to make a great blog post.

I really haven't had much experience in the blogging world, however I can offer my programming criticism here. In the programming world, it is cut throat meaning that programmers, code editors (people who don't code but edit it), and just regular people will be very critical of your code. It is a harsh world to be a part of, even in the freelancing world.

I tend to believe any criticism is good criticism, would we want all the views to be the same? I think it's great for more ideas, and to be more innovative. A lot has came about due to criticism, and you definitely don't want to change that. So love the criticism, learn to love it, even if the criticism is bad.

People who criticize you are a part of life, and even more so in blogging where you are exposing your ideas and evidently others will want to have their say especially if they disagree with what you said. As long as the criticism is constructive I feel that it is totally fine. it is normal to have different opinions and views as after all we are all different. The problem lies when someone criticizes you very harshly and is impolite about it. There is no need to downgrade or ridicule anyone simply because of a different opinion.

Hi jkeyz2 thanks for your question. If I take as general question about criticism as my life. I always try to finding ethical way why someone criticize me. If I got nothing wrong I do with him/them, but, he/they act as criticize to me for harassment, I never going to talk him anymore for future. But, if I see opposite things like I did wrong something or I can do more better, and people or someone critics me by logical way, I take it positively. And I tried to learn something from them and try myself for doing better for those or that partial issue. So, purpose may differ whether you think for blogging or some other work.

Well I think it is important to differentiate on the type of criticism and of course how it is done. This makes a massive difference.

One one of my blogs I have a following of haters and I love them. I review money making scams on that website and provide online marketing information. The haters are the people that sign up for the scams and they don't want to face the truth. They insult me and criticize me so badly, but it is done in an incredibly juvenile way. They even insult my parents! I honestly can't take them seriously. They engage with my website and social networks spewing hate speech, making my content rank well. I can only be grateful.

Then there are some people that give me constructive criticism. I am grateful for this too and thankful, but it can sting at times if you know what I mean?

Then there are people that give criticism because they are trolls. These types of people irritate me a lot. I can't understand why some people are just ugly by nature, hiding behind their laptops spewing nastiness. I detest trolls but I take it all with a pinch of salt because well trolls are just trolls. It has nothing to do with me.

Bring it on, I always say! If your criticism is constructive, well I really love this type of criticism, helps me to grow and learn.
If you just want to insult me or don't have anything of value to say, I don't care, you won't hurt my feelings, no matter what bullcrap you may say.

Yes I agree here Cristian. Sometime constructive criticism can sting a little, sure, but anything that can make my websites better and to help me make more money is very much appreciated!

Oh yes Cristian I agree with you. I have been to rehab so I have had to deal with a lot of challenges and constructive criticism related to a lot of things. Although it can be hard, if you take it and use it then it can only help you improve your life.

Oh I welcome criticism but constructive and the other way. If I anyone criticize my work even in the destructive manner it first give joy that I am doing something that touches this other person and even worthy for him to react in this manner. Then I know yes I only have to get better, so I will look inward and figure how much is his criticism of benefit to me. And when can I make changes to get better. That is how I take criticism

I take criticisms as a way for me to know what areas should I improve. I don't take it personally and I don't let it affect me emotionally because I am aware that you cannot please everyone. Criticism is just my stepping stone to improving my work. I'll just take note of things they criticize and update my work on things that I need to improve while keeping the things that made a good impression on people. Asking for suggestions is also a good idea. It shows that you are open to improvements and that you recognize the insights of others. For me, this is the best way to deal with criticism. Never argue with people. Take it as a lesson instead. This will improve your work while avoiding fights.

Criticisms are usually hurting when written carelessly. But for a writer, whether you are a blogger or a member of a forum, a criticism should be taken positively because it is one way of improving your craft. In my first 3 blogs, my co-blogger would review my article and would return with criticisms mostly constructive. I appreciated that. But when the criticism is acidic that can make the writer toxic, I guess you just have to ignore it.

I accept constructive criticism. Constructive criticism means the reviewer has pointed your mistakes and suggested you how to improve your product or service. I don't welcome criticism for the sake of criticism, in other words, I will not approve criticism that only points mistakes not explain or suggest improvements.
