Are Google Plus Backlinks Useful?

A few years back I was fairly active on Google Plus and YouTube and when I recently looked at my page I was shocked to discover that I had 200,000 views, as well as 50 followers. I started to have a look at some of the old communities and groups I was in, and they all seem to be active still.
I heard that some Google services like hangouts were really helpful with ranking and I was wondering if the same was applicable for Google Plus? If it is then I think I will start using the site and the communities a lot more and I also think I could gain a fair bit of traffic if I do it right

google plus is a good source of traffic but if you use and share relevant content with the community - but you will not get enough juice from there -

Well I've heard a few contradicting things about Google Plus. Yes I believe sharing your posts on Google Plus is very beneficial and I think the Google Plus groups are also quite good. That said I've also heard that Google Plus as a social network just never took off. Because it is Google it is good to share your content there but as a social network I personally think it sucks. I don't enjoy Google Plus much, I don't find interacting with members much fun overall.... I much prefer Facebook and Twitter.

Hi Hasa1015 thanks for your question. I think g+ very importance as part of social networking. many people thinking getting search ranking on Google, g+ working very well. Though there has contention. As per as I know g+ mostly working for generating traffic. Because, most of the G+ user are genuine and real social networker rather than facebook or other network. So, if you share anything on g+ from your website, I think you will get very good response. Besides, if anybody make vote by g+ and if he search anything from Google by connecting on your keyword. Your website will show first on his search result.

I don't think that Google plus backlinks will influence your rankings in any way but you still may get some traffic if you join certain groups as you said.
I really didn't expect for G+ to still have active communities, isn't it on the downwards trend for years now?
Though it was very popular among online marketers since its very beginnings. Maybe they should re-think the whole platform.

I am a part of a good few communities. I wouldn't classify them as pumping exactly but they are active enough I suppose. I don't find Google Plus to be a social network I put a huge focus on.

When I have published new content on one of my websites I share it on Google Plus or if I have just published a new video on Youtube I share it on Google Plus but other than those times I very rarely spend any time or effort on it.

I think that despite the fact that there are several other social networks, Google Plus is still valid. So Google Plus backlinks can be beneficial, and after all they are always backlinks, and to top that up, from a site that is evidently high authority considering that it is Google.

I have high opinion about Google +. In my experience the only social network site that has seo value it Google +. The social signals for Google+ has more value that any other social networks because Google + shares are listed by Google search.

I guess that Google Plus is really a plus when it comes to traffic from search engines because I feel that Google is giving its affiliate site a plus when it comes to the search list. But whether it is true or not, Google Plus is a social media so your social signals will be heard by search engines. By the way, I have seen a headline that said Google Plus is closed. I have yet to verify this.
