YAY for this great information Mike, as always appreciated. I just have some questions quickly if you don't mind.... the blog directories do I submit individual posts or do I just submit my main domain? Maybe I should check out those websites before I ask but I get confused sometimes how things work.

And yes I have bought your list of backlink sites, I haven't had a chance to go through it in detail yet but it looks like a very valuable resource so far. Now I just have to find the time to get going with building backlinks.

Thanks Lynne. Always a pleasure if it helps people! Actually regarding blog directories, they all sort of work differently. But mainly, you put your main site URL and then it auto-finds and pulls in your blog posts from it. It will list them all out on your blog directory page that's created in chronological order. Some of those actually ping and submit your blog posts to other directories and RSS feed sites too so they have a double whammy effect. The only issue with blog directories is that you may have to place a small banner or link on your site in order for them to feature your blog in their directory. It's a small price to pay though because as said, they can distribute your blogs feed onto other similar blogs and RSS feed directories too and the weight they can have and provide on your rankings can outweigh the cost of having that link on your site. Not all do this, only some of the top ones. And it's okay there is no rush! But one thing is for sure, it will save you time not having to find all of these lists elsewhere anyway! Oh nice! Yes I agree with you, I'm not that keen on having a banner or link on my website, but of course the benefits would most likely outweigh that by a long shot.

It is certainly worth giving it a go. Thanks for the advise! I love learning new tips and tricks to get my website ranked better!

Yes, actually, it's good to have these blog directory links because of what they can do. But I usually leave these until somewhat later on after I've added links from the other places mentioned first and built up some nice links on them before adding my site to all the blog directories because of that reason that you have to place the button or link on your site. Also sometimes, I only use these for a while and end up removing them after a year or something because by then they're well and truly amalgamated into the mix if you know what I mean!

Thanks for the information that you shared especially those sites that can give us quality backlinks. I am surprised by the list of the 2.0 websites because aside from Blogger, Wordpress and a few more, I have not encountered the rest of sites in the list. I truly enjoy reading this type of discussions because I get to learn technical matters particularly with SEO methods.
