    How can I hide 'Recommended for you' videos in my Youtube side bar?

    Whenever I'm on Youtube, they insist on showing the weirdest video previews in the side bar menu - such as this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oN3vthNMkzI (not sure why they think I want to watch that specific video, but it's ALWAYS there and I'm creeped out by the idea of seeing it, even if only at the side of my eye).

    How can I hide

    I'm subscribed to TheRichest, but this is not my taste in video, so again unsure of why it's showing up as being 'Recommended' when it's not something I would ever watch. :/

    Whatever I'm watching, whatever topic, it shows up.

    I just want to hide it or make it stop showing, without having to unsubscribe from that channel.

    Is there a way to get this done, to hide the video so it's not showing as a 'recommended' video for me?

    Maybe not a big deal for anyone else, but a huge deal for me. Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can provide.

    Oh yes, this happens to me too sometimes. The weirdest and most unrelated videos are recommended at times and I just cannot stand it. I think that procoder must be right that it is ultimately related with YouTube's algorithm, but like you I haven't got the slightest idea that at any point in time I searched anything remotely connected to what they sometimes suggest. I will check out what you mentioned Procoder, and I would like to thank you Beverly for this discussion as I have always wanted to learn what i could do to avoid this.

    On occasion, a family member will watch videos when signed in as my Youtube account and possibly someone in the household watched something similar to this. If not that, then I don't know what it can be. They have my interests all wrong. Thanks for your support. I will try some of the above suggestions.
