Is HostGator any good?

I know vpsnine.com and serverlogix.com are much better than hostgator.com in many aspects.
Servers are well-supported and prices are low.
Plans have many useful resources.

HostGator is one of the EIG company and customers are giving bad reviews about them . They are spending more on promotion than on quality ..... I never tried them so I couldn't give any final review .... leasededi is providing much better services in low prices .....

hostgator may be bad for some and good for others. just try to see what past customers are saying about them and judge it from their comments.

@aarticle , good for you, hostgator is very famous and i believe that they offer good quality services to thier clients, though i havent try them out but from waht i hear, they are good enough.

I dont know what you guys are talking about I am using hostgator and running almost 8 websites on a single hosting on a baby plan loading time is fast top of all there customer support is just awesome I never seen any customer support so prompt . And for the backup I just made a back yesterday the best part is I dont have to call them on phone they have skype support which you dont have to wait at all just click call and press 1 and there you go out of 50 times only 1 time I have to wait 2 minutes .
For me its working best I have tried godaddy as well its pathetic and there support is very bad . Hostgator is very easy to use and they have got highly trained on call staff .
For there affiliate system I think its great they are paying good money even I know a guy making 2-3k$ a month from there program .
So my feedback regarding hostgator is good even One of my good friend is running 15 website on single baby plan and like for 2-3 years now and he has got no issues till now . And for the plugin problem there is no such problem even I have installed so many plugins there are not a single negative point in hostgator which I can point out .
I think if you are looking for hosting in good price hostgator is the cheapest and best option .

host gator is not good they suspend my account with any reason they said u are running scam sites but what i made was a seoclerks affiliate store :'(

I use HostGator's shared hosting and they're fantastic. Other than the fact that they've went down the "unlimited" hosting path, I haven't had any problems with them. The prices are a bit high, but their staff always replies to tickets within a few minutes and there is almost no downtime.

yes they offer live chat service but now a days i think not working. but they replied support tickets in maximum 8 to 12 hours.

I've used them for years, and what I will say is hostgator is only good if your company/project/website is still very small. When my website grew to about 35 thousand visitors a month it cost an arm and leg to use them, and I was forced off of their cheap plans.

Go with something like OVH, or any other direct providers for a reasonable vps price.

Normally tickets are answered the same day, usually within a few hours. Tickets are addressed in the order they are received, so please wait patiently and you should have a response shortly.

These guys have an unethical practice when you setup a domain they stick their advertising page up and make money off your domain if its pointed to hostgator.

The other things is 404 pages sometimes appear with a hostgator page and joining hostgator.

Yes Hostgator's a good host. But why are you looking at moving. I've had to talk to Liquidweb support on various occasions for clients and found their support to be top notch. Are you having problems? Have you talked to them?

With that much traffic you might be at the point of needing to upgrade, but I would certainly talk to your current host and see what they have to offer. If you are having trouble now if you move to another host with a comparable plan you most likely will have the same problems there.

My workmate has his site on hostgator basic, the traffic is not much so never had any bandwidth issue as such.
99.9% uptime and it loads very fast too

hostgator? it has very bad support! imagine, i only ask a backup, my ticket status is not reply for morethan 6 days! and then, they toke thousands from me, since hostgator has different owner, hostgator start to be the worst n bad hosting provider in the world

years ago, he has the best customer service, but since hostgator company is takeover by EIG, all service is very different,
price is grow up, but the customer service is grow down
i ever contact live support, ask for backup, but they can not help me, they asked me to open new ticket, and my tickets are not replied for morethan 6 days
now im using hawkhost service, im not promoting their service, but for today, hawkhost and its service is more better than hostgator

you should i think, hawkhost is better now, they have cheap price, but have good support team, although they dont have live support, but they have fast respond support ticket system. *i dont affiliate with any hawkhost company

My honest opinion:

Hey!
Hostgator is one of the best web hosting companies that you can use and is surprisingly cheap as well but the thing is that when it comes to the best one for beginners, I would say it's Bluehost as it is a bit more user friendly than HostGator and has more useful features, HostGator is also very friendly but once again if you ask about the best one, then it's Bluehost.

You can see here that this article has given a lot of helpful information about which Bluehost plan to choose and why Bluehost is better than others. I saw this review and read on many forums that Bluehost is still the best.
