Yes internally of course, we are alerted on many ways, and we publish our global uptime publicly on our website yoorshop

I use uptimerobot too. I was also using other services. But now sticking with uptimerobot.

I used an external service when one of my sites got hacked, just so I could monitor any changes until I got it fixed.

No, I use a good hosting... or better said I use a VPS from a good hosting for my main websites so I can stay away from shared hosting
