    What is the difference between public cloud vs private cloud when it comes to computing and hosting? Also, what advantages would public cloud have over private cloud?

    Contrary to the name, a public cloud provides maximum privacy for your content. The uploaded files are just as safe, if not more so than if hosted on your own private cloud.

    The problem with a private cloud is how they usually use outdated software and servers for storage of files. That won't be true with a public cloud company like Google Drive where everything is latest state of the art technology.

    You would need lots of money to buy your own servers to host your own site or maintain your own storage. It's best to go with a public free cloud or paid cloud as they will have superior servers and updated software.

    Private clouds are not exactly for hosting of public sites. They are owned by big companies for their computation needs. Public cloud is offered commercially for hosting & computation like Google and other companies do.
