    .xyz domains. Will you get one?

    Have you seen these new .xyz domains?

    .xyz is an upcoming generic domain extension on the internet. You know the .com at the end of an address in your navigation bar? That’s an exension (sometimes known as a gTLD). Right now there are only 22 to choose from. But, starting very soon, there are going to be a whole bunch of new ones released. ICANN, the organization that governs internet protocol, recently decided to allow internet registries to apply for new domain extensions.

    xyz domain became popular when Google bought an alphabet domain with xyz. Google owns abc.xyz. They say domain extension has nothing to do with SEO, therefore, in theory, there would not be any problem with xyz domains. But them it has been discovered that xyz domains are being used for illegal websites.

    There are some good keyword branding possibilities with a new TLD.

    So let's assume you own a webmaster forum and want to dominate Google search for a webmaster related word. That's not going to happen with a .com TLD as most are already taken. All the TLD with popular keywords for .com and .biz, etc i.e. webmasterforum.com are already taken for that niche. With an xyz domain (or any relatively new domain), you would have the chance to gain access to hot keywords like 'webmaster.xyz' or 'webmasterforum.xyz.'. It would depend on your niche as to how fast the keywords are taken for this new TLD .

    A very catchy TLD! This could be a good thing for anyone trying to scoop up any of the SEOClerks related keywords for affiliate sites that were already used on the .com TLD.

    Since most of the high value domains for many popular extensions are already taken it is good to go for extensions such as xyz. It is better to get a new extension such as dot xyz instead of compromising with your chosen name. I will always have dot xyz instead of replacing my domain name. I wanted to get a domain name mylifesucks, however, it was already taken with most of the popular extsnsions. Then I chose dot xyz.

    I will go for it if it suits what I need it for.A lot of sites I visit have this extension, I don't see any wrong about that, it will be of good help to bloggers that need to get a paid domain name for their blogspot and it was already taken.One can swiftly buy that same name with .xyz extension instead of totally changing the blog or domain name.
