Who do you prefer getting views from?

Your video views can come from all over, not just subscribers.

Do you prefer that your video views be made by a lot of randoms who happened upon your videos by accident such as search on Google or Youtube search (these people are not subscribed)? Or, do you prefer views by your subscribers who have specifically returned to your channel to watch those videos? Which means the most to you?

Getting views from subscribers is good as those people have taken the time to check out the channel and opt in for updates. Random views are nice too as they increase the over all views for that specific video, though they don't always convert to subscribers or repeat views from the same person.

But do these randoms actually take time to leave comments or do anything but watch the video? I'd want someone to stick around for the entire video to interact.

We have one video in our Youtube channel about a radio drama. Obviously, the radio station got wind of the video and posted in on their website. Now that radio drama video has been getting a good number of traffic and comments as well and apparently most of those viewers are fans of the radio station. For us, a view is a view and it doesn’t matter who the viewer is. As long as they keep on viewing our videos then that’s what is important to us, the traffic.
