Can FB Groups Be Made Public?

My new FB Group is only viewable to people that are logged into Facebook. I know with a Facebook Page you can just change this in the settings where there is an option about who can view the page, but I cant seem to find this option for my Group. Anyone know how I can make the group visible to people both logged in and out of Facebook?

Yep! That is VERY annoying. I have a Facebook group for my game clan and it's set to public, so that anyone (even non-members of the group) can view posts. But it's still not viewable to anyone not logged into Facebook. Maybe this is Facebook's way of controlling content or preventing bots from indexing the site. If anyone knows how to fix this, I'd love to find out too.

Facebook controls what you get to see on their site. That includes group activity. The groups are presumed to be for Facebook members only, so they are private in that way unless you are logged in.

I don't think you can do it, but I hope somebody can tell if he knows how we can do it.. Would be really useful!

Facebook is a lot like Pinterest in how they control their content. You have to login to both Pinterest to freely browse their site, same as you would if you wanted to browse Facebook. Login is usually required for both sites.

I am a member of several groups and I think the setting is defaulted to close. And even if it is set to public, only the members are shown the posts. For people to see the posts, they should join the group. But it’s not that easy because approval of invitation is needed to be a member. But if you will ask me, I would prefer an open group that can be seen by anyone. Of course, only the bona-fide members can post.
