How many messages can your Facebook inbox hold?

Is there a limit on how many messages your Facebook inbox can hold? Right now, I have at least 200 messages spread over my many friends. And, that's not really a lot, considering that I have 300+ friends (about half of which I have actually messaged since starting Facebook).

I don't really think there is a limit on how many messages your inbox can hold. Facebook is not like forums that limit your total messages for an inbox. If you are worried, you can just easily delete all the messages you no longer want to hold onto. Or, you could archive and download your messages for safe keeping and delete them on Facebook.

i feel it is 5000 messages maximum but am not very sure.

I think there is no limit for Facebook messaging better you may ask at Facebook support page.

I do not know if there is a limit. I usually delete my old messages from time to time so I do not have this issue.

That's not really so many messages, considering how many friends you have. On a regular basis, I send at least 100 messages to the same friend weekly. If you had ten friends that you messaged as much, then you would generate 1000 messages weekly.
