    Facebook hacked

    Once I had a computer stolen from storage (in Florida after I stored stuff before we moved) and the person logged into both my Facebook and Gmail accounts from that computer. I only found out because Gmail alerted me that someone using another IP than mine (in Florida) was logged in earlier that day and it turned out Facebook recorded the same event. I still don't know what information they accessed, maybe it was just a mistake. But a really scary event. Since then, I always check Facebook settings/security to see where else my Facebook might be logged in. And, if i see a login I don't recognize such as from another city, then I end that and change my password.

    Just recently I had to private message a family member through Facebook to tell her that her email was hacked, because I had received a couple emails from her address that was pure spam and I know for sure that it didn't come from her. I reported on her behalf, along with advising her to check into it as well. You just never know, do you?

    My account was once hacked. People that I was friends with were getting weird things on their posts and comments which was rather annoying.

    Just recently I had to private message a family member through Facebook to tell her that her email was hacked, because I had received a couple emails from her address that was pure spam and I know for sure that it didn't come from her. I reported on her behalf, along with advising her to check into it as well. You just never know, do you?


    I can only hope the person logged in automatically on my computer by mistake thinking they would access their own account and then logged off. And, I don't know if they went over my friend list or contacted anyone or used my email address as their own. It was a long time back but I checked sent emails to see if any emails had been sent and I also looked for emails from my bank to see if anyone had requested a password assistance to accounts as anyone with access to the email can do that. I am using another Facebook account now though as there was constantly suspicious activity on that account after that, including logins from Texas and other states that i am not near. With my new account, that has not happened, so hopefully the worst is behind.

This happens sometimes, though even if you share your computer with a coworker or housemate who can access your Facebook account. For this reason, you need to be sure the password does not save by erasing all login information via your browser settings.
