What percentage of your traffic comes from Google Search?

If Google is so effective, then it should produce lots of traffic. But some big retail sites claim to only get a small fraction of their daily traffic from search engines and most from social networks, partnerships and Adwords or Facebook ads. So how effective is Google for generating traffic to your site? Does most or just some of your traffic come from Google search?

I think it is because they have money to spend and are businesses! They don't produce content that are king in search marketing! You'll see that more business are using content marketing right now because search engine matter and it gives powerful results with passive methods.

Most of my traffic come from Google for few optimized pages! The traffic from social networks don't convert. Users don't bother about my ads; with Google traffic, i get an high CTR!

More than 60 percent traffic to my website comes from Google. after Google, social media, mostly facebook and twitter, are my primary traffic sources. I also get traffic from forums and blogs.

I have read in other forums that the traffic coming from the search engines constitute at least from 10% up to 50% of the total traffic especially if the website is not being promoted. In other words, the website can still get traffic even if it is stagnant as long as it is in the ranking of the search engines. My rough estimate is a traffic of 30% is moderate if the website is on page 1 of the search list.
