Kat I had heard that site maps are good. I would say that not only for the search engines but also for the people using the site.

A good navigation system that links all your pages. Even sub pages, should have a common link to your home page or a main page on your site. This will make all pages easily discoverable by Google. Great content is another thing you need for a Google friendly site.

My understanding of the term Google friendly site is that the website has a good design, good contents and using keywords. In other words, the website has the properties related to the benefits of search engines that in effect, it will get a high ranking. SEO is a big thing now and it seems that most website owners have their focus on SEO methods. That is because the website can get unlimited new traffic from search engines.
