One good backlink from a very active .edu or .gov blog can be worth a lot of money. If you can do the service for yourself, then do so. Otherwise, figure out how much you want to pay for each backlink from a quality educational or governmental site and pay accordingly.

I would pay $2.00 or more per backlink assuming it was do follow as this is about what I'm already paying for these types of links. Though I don't think you would need very many for a good SEO impact.

It seems like doing backlink work is very rewarding because of the cost to the client. Maybe I should learn how to post on those reputable sites so that in the future perhaps I can earn good money by doing link building for a client. And although I know it is not easy but that’s the price they pay for that kind of job.
